A thought then came to mind and I wondered what my mother would think.
"Mum?" then said
"Yes?" she said and then waited for me to speak.
I wanted to ask her if I really wasn't allowed to speak to Marco. He seemed really nice. As I contemplated asking the question I then thought of everything mum had done recently to protect us. We suddenly moved homes and everything. Even though I didn't understand everything that was going on I trusted my mum's judgment. She wouldn't say that unless she thought it was important. Still, I found myself thinking about Marco.
"No, it's nothing," I then said to her.
She and Louis exchanged looks before my mum looked back at me. "Just know I'm here if you have something you want to tell me," she said to me before standing up and leaving the room with Louis.
