The ride was quiet with neither of the boys speaking. I knew the boys weren't close to each other given our family circumstances. They lived in separate homes and were even in different grade levels at school.
I tried to break the ice by asking them questions about school and about what we were going to do at the resort. The resort was located just outside the city so there was space for all the activities offered.
"What activity should we do?" I asked them upon arriving. I had the boys go through the different activities. I knew we couldn't do any activities that had to do with water due to Marco's sensitive skin condition so I scrapped off activities like water rafting, or kayaking.
"Maybe we can go go-karting?" Tony then suggested.
"Yeah, that sounds good," Marco agreed.
"Then go-karting it is," I said to them.
Having decided on our activity we then headed towards the go-karting area.
