Chapter 118 - Spider-Man’s Luck with Women

Peter walked out of the multimedia classroom, and a girl hurried after him.

"You're late, Peter. What happened? Don't tell me you were reading comics this morning and lost track of time?"

Peter stopped and turned around. The girl had long blonde hair tied into a neat ponytail, wore glasses, and carried a bit of scholarly air about her. She was dressed in a light grass-green dress, giving her a gentle, bookish look.

Information about her surfaced naturally in Peter's mind.

Debra Whitman—Spider-Man '94's classmate at Empire State University, an exceptionally bright woman whose academic ability matched Peter's.

Because they often shared the same laboratory and occasionally attended academic symposiums and technology expos together, the two had a pretty good relationship.

"Sorry, I'm not in the mood to listen to your jokes right now, Debra," Peter said, turning to leave immediately.

He needed to go find Dr. Connors while he still had time.

"Wait, Parker."A man walked up and blocked Peter's way. "I thought you'd be my biggest rival, but it seems you've already fallen behind at the starting line."

Peter looked at him. His clothing was strange—almost like the fashion of a European aristocrat, topped with a long black overcoat.

This was Michael Morbius. Like Debra, he was one of Peter's classmates—also a competitor of sorts.

As for the odd clothes, it was because he had Romanian heritage. He grew up in Eastern Europe and had been influenced by the culture there.

Peter didn't have much fondness for this guy who always seemed to oppose "him." He shot back, "Ever heard of the Tortoise and the Hare?"

"Heh. In my country, a turtle is nothing more than a meal," Michael Morbius replied.

"Peter!"

Another beautiful blonde girl approached from not far away, making Peter sigh at just how incredible Spider-Man '94's luck with women really was.

If he remembered correctly, there was also a Mary Jane Watson who had been ambiguously involved with him before…—Hey hey hey, don't hit me. Never mind that now.

Peter steadied the surge of feelings inside him.

But he couldn't actually calm down.

Because the freshly arrived blonde girl was Felicia Hardy—someone Spider-Man '94 had a very strong fondness for.

And for some reason, seeing her made Peter feel something strange.

He didn't know where that feeling came from, so he could only chalk it up to the emotions Spider-Man '94 had toward her.

This wasn't even his first time seeing a "Felicia Hardy."

During his first dimensional jump, there had also been a Felicia in the Shadow Spider-Man world—an incredibly gorgeous, fiery woman. She had even dared to go assassinate "Jonah" alone to avenge Urich's death, only to accidentally kill the Chameleon instead and ruin the Green Goblin's planned scheme afterward.

—Looking back, the Goblin had wanted to use the Chameleon's disguises to frame Shadow Spider-Man for murder, fully turning him against society.

So Felicia's actions had, in a way, protected Shadow Spider-Man.

But that had nothing to do with the situation now.

Even if they were both "Felicia" and "Spider-Man," these were different worlds, different lives, different people.

And clearly, the Felicia in front of him was in the prime of her youth—full of charm.

The sight of her made Peter subconsciously think of Betty.

"Hi, Felicia," Peter greeted.

Felicia Hardy looked at Peter with confusion. "What's wrong, Peter? You look a little nervous."

"Uh, no—"

Peter was about to answer when Michael Morbius suddenly stepped in front of him.

"Felicia, what a beautiful name. Allow me to introduce myself—I'm Michael Morbius."

As he spoke, Morbius grabbed Felicia's hand, imagining himself to be very gentlemanly, and kissed the back of it.

"Charming. Sorry to interrupt," Felicia Hardy said as she withdrew her hand with obvious perfunctory politeness.

Then she stepped past Morbius, took Peter's hand, and pulled his entire arm into her embrace, acting very affectionate.

Peter stiffened all over again.

Betty loved holding him like this too.

Ever since the ambiguous moment during the school anniversary, Betty had launched a fiery pursuit—frequently sticking close to him without hesitation, making Ned extremely jealous.

(Q-version Peter lifts a sign: Huh? Ned, what are you jealous about?)

"That guy looks like he walked straight out of a horror movie," Felicia whispered into Peter's ear. The warm, fragrant breath of a girl brushed lightly against Peter's ear, then slid along the curve of his cheek and into his nose.

"Probably a vengeful vampire?" Peter could tell Felicia really didn't like Morbius, and felt a bit relieved. "Felicia, did you need something from me?"

"Tonight is the opening of my mother's new Science Center. I wanted to ask if you would come with me," Felicia said.

"Tonight…" Peter wanted to refuse. He was thinking about the issue affecting Spider-Man '94's body, and felt he should solve that first.

As for romance… maybe it should take a back seat for now?

But at that moment, he suddenly felt a surge from the consciousness belonging to Spider-Man '94.

"You're inviting me on a date?" Peter suddenly teased.

"Hehehe—" Felicia laughed. "Peter, you're the only person I know who can explain all those boring scientific exhibits to me."

"Hold on, answer my question first. Is it a date?" Peter pressed.

Felicia laughed again. "Alright, alright, I give up. If you want to think of it as a date, then yes, it's a date."

"Great. I'll be there," Peter said.

"Then it's settled. Six-thirty tonight—pick me up at the café." Felicia checked the ladies' watch on her wrist, then leaned in and kissed Peter.

Peter felt like the initiative had swung back to him.

He stood frozen, stunned.

He realized he might not have been brought into this world to help its Spider-Man—but rather to learn how to date girls.

Though when he thought about it… maybe that wasn't so bad?

"Write this down, write this down!"Q-version little Spidey pulled out a notebook.

But Peter really wanted to ask Spider-Man '94 whether this was truly okay.

There were still six supervillains plus one unknown threat likely eyeing him like a predator, and his own body was having problems again. How did he still have the mind to flirt with girls?

But soon, Peter no longer had the mood to worry about any of that.

Because a sudden, unexpected message appeared before his eyes—
