Chapter 114 - The Infinity Stone Crisis

This matter could not be ignored.

Strange had fully realized the severity of the problem.

He pushed his desk lightly, and in the next instant his body flashed to a spot not far away. There, he sat cross-legged in midair, suspended effortlessly. The crimson Cloak of Levitation billowed behind him without any wind at all.

Peter watched Strange curiously, not knowing what kind of magic he was about to perform this time.

Strange crossed his hands and began forming seals rapidly in front of him.

At that moment, the Eye of Agamotto hanging on his chest lit up. The complex magical mechanisms on its surface spun rapidly, glowing with an otherworldly radiance.

Boom!

A burst of green light erupted from the Eye of Agamotto. Emerald energy poured out like a mist, enveloping Strange completely.

More importantly, Strange's body began to tremble. His head shook back and forth in jerky motions, like a robot with corrupted programming.

"Stephen?" Peter put down the glass of milk in his hand.

Strange didn't respond. He remained locked in that strange state.

Peter's expression darkened and he slowly stood.

But he didn't approach—he simply watched in silence.

He didn't understand magic, but at least he knew Strange must be casting some important spell, likely to verify what he had said earlier.

This was absolutely not the time to interrupt him with something stupid.

Time slipped by—half an hour passed in a blink.

Peter had already drunk who-knows-how many glasses of milk, yet Strange still hadn't awakened.

What was stranger was that the milk in the cup seemed endless. Every time Peter finished it, it refilled itself automatically.

Not a drop more, not a drop less—filled exactly to the rim.

So Peter kept drinking, and it kept refilling.

Don't misunderstand—he was only testing whether the milk was truly bottomless.

Eventually he reached a conclusion: even if this wasn't technically "infinite refills," it might as well be. At the very least, it far exceeded the capacity of his stomach.

"—Haaah… haah… haah—"

Suddenly, Strange inhaled sharply and began breathing heavily, gasping for air.

His body slowly drifted downward from the air. His feet touched the ground, and his figure swayed—he nearly fell.

Peter had been prepared. He quickly set his milk on the table, flashed across the room, and caught Strange before he collapsed.

"Sit." Peter helped him to the sofa where he had been sitting earlier, then returned to his own seat. "What did you just do? Predicting the future? Magic can do that too?"

"No." Strange's face was pale—he looked as if all his energy had been drained.

He took several deep breaths, grabbed a teacup from the table, and drained it in one go.

"I didn't calculate the future," Strange said heavily. "I went to see the future."

Peter blinked. "What—you saw the future?! Magic can do that too?"

Strange nodded. "That is the power of the Time Stone."

"What's the Time Stone?" Peter asked.

Strange pointed at the Eye of Agamotto on his chest, which had returned to its normal form. "It's the object hidden inside this—the Eye of Agamotto."

Seeing Peter still looking like a confused baby bird, Strange decided to explain more thoroughly.

"At the dawn of the universe, six singularities erupted one after another. The energies that surged out merged, expanded, and finally formed the universe as we know it."

"Later, the remnants of the Big Bang gradually condensed into high-energy clusters. Ancient beings known as the Cosmic Entities noticed this phenomenon. They gathered these remnants and forged them into six powerful artifacts—the Infinity Stones."

"This green one is the Time Stone. It allows me to manipulate time—rewind the past, peer into the future… That's how I was able to see what's coming."

"This is the Reality Stone." Strange held his hand up; a red gem appeared between his fingers. "It is the sculptor of reality, able to alter existence, manipulate the laws of the world, and create illusions so real that they are indistinguishable from truth."

"The Power Stone." The red gem vanished; a purple one appeared. "It is the embodiment of raw power, granting its wielder limitless strength. If you ever encounter someone holding the Power Stone, remember—never try to fight them head-on. Not even if you've become very strong."

His words seemed to carry a subtle hint.

Peter nodded thoughtfully, wondering whether Strange had seen him fight someone wielding the Power Stone in the future.

Well… better make a mental note of it.

"The Mind Stone." A yellow gem appeared. "It governs spirit and consciousness. It can read, influence, and manipulate thought and emotion. Years ago, Loki brought a scepter containing the Mind Stone to Earth and initiated the Battle of New York."

Peter nodded again. That much he knew.

After he captured Toomes, Tony Stark officially brought him into the Avengers. As a true Avenger, he gained access to confidential files.

During breaks between experiments, Peter had read through some of them.

He knew Loki had used the Mind Stone to control Hawkeye and several researchers.

He also knew that after the battle, the Mind Scepter remained on Earth—only to be stolen by Hydra agents embedded within S.H.I.E.L.D.

Later, Hydra used the scepter to create Wanda and Pietro, two humans with extraordinary abilities.(The files reflected the Avengers' official understanding of the events.)

"This is the Space Stone—the very same object fought over during the Battle of New York: the Tesseract." The gem turned blue. "It controls space itself, enabling transport across galaxies with ease."

"And the final one, the orange gem, is the Soul Stone—the most mysterious of all. It is the source of all life."

Peter nodded fervently.

But the more Strange explained, the more confused he felt. Why was Strange telling him all this?

Could his Spider-Sense be reacting to… all six Infinity Stones?

Every single one of them?

At that moment, Strange spoke again—his tone deadly serious.

"These six Infinity Stones… even a single stone possesses terrifying power. And if all six were ever gathered together and fell into the hands of someone with evil intentions… it would mean disaster."

"A disaster for the entire universe."
