sorry for being late i am really having bad network issues in area
Jay entered the study, shut the door softly, then snapped:
"MICHAEL."
The line connected instantly.
"I know," Michael said without greeting. His voice was tight. "I traced the device. The spy wasn't bluffing. It wasn't just Kaizer. Someone else is involved. Someone smart enough to hide from me for five minutes."
Jay sucked in a breath.
"That's… not possible."
"For everyone else? Yes."
"For him? Apparently."
Her fingers curled around the edge of the desk.
Her heartbeat buzzed in her ears.
"Find out who he is," she said. "I don't care what it takes."
"I'm already running multilayer background sweeps," Michael replied. "But Jay—there's something else."
Jay stiffened.
"…Say it."
"You asked if Yuri actually betrayed you."
A pause.
Jay's throat tightened. Hard.
Michael exhaled slowly.
"It's confirmed."
The world tilted.
Jay closed her eyes, forcing air into her lungs.
"For how long?"
"Months. Maybe a year," Michael said quietly. "Kaizer wasn't her only contact. She was passing info to masked guy too."
Something in Jay cracked. Softly. Silently.
"…Okay."
"Jay—"
"No."
Her voice was paper-thin but sharp.
"Not right now, Michael."
She blinked rapidly, wiping away a tear before it could fall.
Michael's tone softened, almost brotherly.
"Alpha."
Jay swallowed.
"You're not alone in this."
"I know," she whispered — lying through her teeth.
Silence stretched, heavy.
Then Michael's voice hardened — all business, all urgency:
"We can't stay scattered. You need everyone at the MAIN BASE. League HQ. The real one."
Jay's spine straightened.
"That's extreme."
"So is a masked psycho from your past teaming up with Kaizer Watson," Michael said. "I'm sending coordinates and bodyguards to escort all of you. Move tonight."
Her eyes flickered — a tiny flame of resolve burning through the hurt.
"Send it," she said. "We're leaving."
Jay stepped out of the study.
Everyone was waiting in the corridor — Keifer, Keigan, Keiren, Angelo, Ion, and the entire Sec-E already lined up like they sensed something.
Jay inhaled.
"where is yuri?"
"why what happened"
"nothing just asking "
"he went out saying some family issue"
"We're moving," she said.
Keifer stepped forward immediately.
"Where?"
Jay looked him straight in the eyes.
"To the League Base."
A ripple of shock tore across the hallway.
percy blinked. "THE base? Literally level-zero clearance base?"
aries gasped. "With the biometric walls?"
mayo rubbed his forehead. "We're… allowed inside that?"
jashfer: "Jay… … what's going on?"
Jay forced a smile — fake, too bright, too practiced.
"Just safety,papa. Nothing big."
Angelo crossed his arms. "Jay. Don't lie. Your eye twitches when you lie."
Jay glared.
"NO it doesn't."
Ion sighed. "It really does."
Keifer stared at her longer than all of them.
"Jay," he said gently. "What happened?"
She held his gaze.
And lied again.
"Nothing. Just precaution."
But her fingers trembled — and Keifer saw it.
Jay continued:
"Aunt , Lia, Rose rafael keiren keigan — call them too."
They nodded and hurried off.
Jay called to Rafael.
"Call your team. I want aerial support from the moment we move."
Rafael whistled low.
"Someone pissed you off bad."
"You have no idea," she muttered.
Finally, she faced Sec-E.
"Follow protocol," Jay ordered. "We move formation-D. No one leaves the perimeter. No one breaks ranks."
Aries cracked his knuckles.
"Someone's dead."
Percy grinned.
"Several someones."
Calix frowned. "Wait, who are we fighting?"
Mayo shrugged. "Does it matter?"
Ella sighed. "Chaos again…"
Freya held Edrix's hand. "We just ate…"
Jay almost smiled.
Almost.
THE SLIP
Keifer stepped closer and touched her shoulder lightly.
"Jay."
Her breath hitched.
She didn't look up.
"I'm fine," she said.
"You're not," he answered softly.
Her jaw tightened—
But before she broke, Jay turned sharply and walked past him.
"We leave in ten," she said. "No delays."
MICHAEL'S FINAL MESSAGE
Just as everyone dispersed, Jay's phone buzzed again.
A new encrypted message.
MICHAEL:
"Jay… I found something else.
The masked guy—
He's connected to your mother.
And to you.
Be careful."
Jay's blood ran cold.
She locked the phone.
Straightened her spine.
And walked out to lead her people.
