Chapter 12 - "Beneath the Glow of Power"

Nareman lay on the bed, utterly exhausted, sweat and dust covering her face and dress. Her eyes were half-closed as she tried to catch a moment of rest after the long day at the farm, unaware of what was about to happen.

Suddenly, her sister Nora slipped into the room, her wide eyes sparkling with curiosity. Before Nareman could react, Nora leaped onto her.

Nareman's heart skipped a beat, and she shouted, trying to push her away:

"Get off me!"

Frowning in anger, Nareman snapped,

"You're acting like a child! Stop this at once!"

Nora stood confidently, replying,

"Why are you angry? I just wanted to tease you."

"Don't tease me! Stay away from me, okay?" Nareman yelled, her voice tight with frustration.

Nora pouted slightly, then moved toward Nareman's wardrobe, rummaging through it.

Nareman trembled with anger. "What are you doing?!"

She ran to her wardrobe, but Nora stepped back, smiling, holding a folded piece of paper, shaking it teasingly.

Nareman froze when she saw it, then ran after her, shouting,

"Give it back!"

Nora tried to escape, and Nareman tripped over her siblings' toys, falling to the floor.

Nora jumped back onto the bed, shaking her head in mock disbelief.

"Oh, sister! You're clumsy all the time…"

Nora unfolded the paper slowly, then gasped.

"What is this? It looks like a map… Why were you hiding it?"

Nareman stared at her, eyes wide and fearful.

Nora continued excitedly,

"A map? Does anyone else know about this? Why didn't you tell me?"

Suddenly, she smiled in astonishment,

"Is it a treasure map?!"

Nareman's anger surged, and she lunged at her, sending them both tumbling off the bed.

Suddenly, Nora screamed. Nareman jumped back in surprise:

"What?!"

Nora rubbed her arm, searching the floor, tension clear on her face.

"I felt a strange shock in my hand… like a lightning strike!"

Nareman raised an eyebrow.

"Maybe you hit your wrist on the floor, that's why."

But Nora stared at her palm, and a tiny flash of electricity flickered for a second.

"Did you see that? Did you see?" she exclaimed.

Nareman's eyes widened in fear and amazement. She reached out to hold Nora's hand…

Suddenly, her power exploded toward Nareman, sending her flying into the wall. Energy surged wildly, filling the room with blinding light and a fierce buzzing.

Adam rushed toward the room, each step shaking with the intensity of the chaotic energy. Lightning crackled unpredictably, striking walls and sending sparks through the curtains and furniture, while the deafening hum made it almost impossible to breathe.

He shouted hoarsely amid the chaos,

"Nora! Try to control your power!"

But his voice was swallowed by the storm.

His daughter screamed, her voice trembling, tears streaming:

"I can't!!"

Adam felt a tightening in his chest—not just from danger, but from fear for his daughter, who had lost control entirely.

He turned quickly toward the corner, seeing Nareman pressed against the wall, pale, tears threatening to fall, eyes wide with terror. She stared at her little sister, trembling, unable to comprehend what she was witnessing.

Adam moved cautiously toward her, carefully trying to reach Nareman without triggering another explosion. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning streaked past his face, splitting the wardrobe in half and sending sparks flying everywhere.

They both froze, fear mirrored in their eyes as they watched the burning cabinet and rising smoke.

Adam stepped back, chest heaving, struggling to catch his breath amid the chaos. His mind raced: How could he stop her?

He retreated a step further, thinking fast.

At a decisive moment, he touched the ground. The house shuddered, wood cracking, stones twisting as if obeying his will. Walls and ceiling warped with terrifying force, the rocks forming a massive dome around Nora, containing the chaos within.

Silence fell for a brief moment… then Nora's scream echoed from inside, full of fear and panic.

Adam approached the dome, placing his hand on it, his voice firm yet gentle:

"Calm down, little one… just breathe… we'll think this through. We're here. We won't leave you."

The children gathered at the door, wide-eyed with curiosity and fear.

Adam spun toward them, his tone strict:

"Do not enter!"

Barwin moved swiftly to the door, trying to keep them safe from the chaos inside the barrier.

Niolefer came close to the dome, her voice calm but firm, guiding:

"Take a deep breath… control your fear… rub your fingers… then clench your fist tightly. Never release your grip."

Nora followed her instructions, pressure building in her fist. But she couldn't hold it. Suddenly, her grip slipped, and power surged outward, rocking the rock barrier, threatening to break it.

Everyone stepped back in alarm. Nareman stood shocked, eyes wide as she watched cracks forming in the barrier.

Her father shouted sharply,

"Nareman!"

In a flash, Barwin leapt in front of her, shielding her from any potential impact.

A terrifying explosion echoed. The rock barrier shattered, fragments flying everywhere, energy surging like a storm of lightning.

Then… suddenly, everything stopped.

The light vanished.

The sound faded.

Even the dust hung suspended in the air for a few seconds before settling slowly.

In the center, Nora lay on the floor, eyes distant, hair standing on end from the lingering static, faint electric threads glimmering.

Everyone froze, faces full of astonishment, none daring to move or speak. No one understood what had happened… or how everything had ended so abruptly.

Amid the silence, Barwin moved slowly, eyes wide, astonishment clear on his face.

He stepped away from Nareman, as if realizing something unbelievable.

All eyes turned toward her…

She stood still, hand extended forward, breathing calmly despite the surrounding chaos.

Her silky white hair floated gently in the air, as if some hidden energy passed through it.

"Her eyes—those that seemed to hold two galaxies of light—shone with a mysterious, enchanting glow, taking everyone's breath away."

In that moment, it became clear.

It wasn't the explosion that had stopped by itself…

It was Nareman who had halted Nora's power in an instant.

Adam turned slowly to his children standing at the doorway, watching the scene. His children's eyes were wide with shock and fear. Displeasure and frustration were written across his face, and he muttered quietly:

'Everything… is ruined…'"
