Chapter 8: Coma Again
"Alright, stop crying. I'm perfectly fine, and everything I said is true. Thanks to your ability last night, my telekinesis has become much stronger. If you don't believe me, watch."
With that, Aiden extended his hand towards a table laden with food not far away.
Instantly, the food on the table floated up, item by item, neatly stacked onto a plate, then slowly flew towards Aiden, finally landing steadily on the table in front of him.
Seeing this, and the mountain of food piled before Aiden, Jean finally broke into a smile through her tears.
"You pig, you eat so much."
"Haha, it's a blessing to be able to eat!" Aiden said with a grin.
"Holy cow, Aiden, can you really eat all that?"
Just then, Danny walked over with a plate of food and his eyes widened at the sight of the mountain of food in front of Aiden.
"It's fine, I have a huge appetite." Aiden waved his hand.
Jean saw Danny sit down, a hint of apology flashing in her eyes, and at the same time, she let out a sigh of relief.
It was a good thing Danny was alright.
"I'm sorry, Danny, last night was all my fault."
"Huh? What happened to you last night?" Danny asked, looking puzzled.
"Nothing, Jean was too tired last night and went straight back, so she didn't have time to tell you." Aiden interjected.
"Oh, it's nothing, nothing!" Danny waved his hand, indicating it was no big deal.
Seeing this, Jean pursed her lips and said in a voice as soft as a mosquito, "Thank you, Aiden!"
However, because her voice was too quiet, and Aiden was busy eating, he didn't hear her.
After finishing lunch and classes that morning, Aiden called Jean and they went to the garden.
Not far from the garden was an open space, along with facilities like a basketball court and a football field.
Many students were currently strolling or playing sports like basketball.
Aiden and Jean returned to the tree where they had stargazed last night, sitting cross-legged facing each other.
"Jean, I need you to use your telekinesis like last night. If possible, it would be best if you directed your mental telekinesis towards me." Aiden said, looking at Jean with a serious expression.
"But, Aiden, I can't control my ability. I'm afraid I'll hurt you again." Jean said with a hesitant expression.
"You are the Master of your ability. You must learn to control it. I believe you can do it, and I also believe you won't hurt me again!" Aiden encouraged her, looking directly into her eyes.
Hearing Aiden's words, Jean stared blankly into Aiden's eyes, lost in thought for a long time.
After a long while, Jean took a deep breath, and a hint of determination appeared in her eyes: "Mm, I understand. I can do it!"
Seeing this, Aiden also showed a smile.
"Good, then unleash your telekinesis on me. I'm ready."
"Mm!"
Jean nodded, then became serious, beginning to concentrate.
Aiden also unconsciously held his breath, preparing for the mental impact that could arrive at any moment.
The next moment, an invisible ripple appeared around Jean and instantly slammed into Aiden's brain.
Buzz... In an instant, Aiden felt his brain go blank, and then he felt as if a heavy hammer had brutally smashed down.
This was followed by a long, continuous ringing in his ears.
In a haze, he seemed to hear a faint, ethereal cry of a bird amidst the ringing.
Drip... Just then, a drop of slightly warm liquid dripped from Aiden's nose, falling onto his lips and slowly sliding into his mouth.
Immediately, a strong taste of rust and a sweet, fishy flavor instantly filled his entire mouth.
Then, Aiden's vision went black, his head tilted, and he fell straight to the ground, unconscious.
"Aiden!!!"
Before his consciousness sank into slumber, Aiden only heard a panicked cry, and then he knew nothing.
He didn't know how much time had passed, Aiden only felt as if he was in a dark place, with nothing but pitch-black darkness all around, unable to see anything else.
"Aiden!"
In the ethereal, he seemed to hear a call, like a child, yet also like a gentle, mature female voice.
"Aiden!!"
Another call, it was the mature female voice, only this time, there seemed to be a hint of enchantment and undisguised desire in the sound.
"Aiden!!!"
By the third call, the female voice had turned into a low, Beast-like roar, filled with fury, seemingly angry at Aiden's lack of response.
"Caw..."
Suddenly, a loud shriek, suppressing anger, abruptly rang out.
Terrifying red Fire instantly swept through the surroundings, and the endless darkness was ignited in that moment.
The next moment, Aiden abruptly opened his eyes.
No one noticed that in his pupils, a bird-like Fire flashed and vanished.
As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw a pristine white ceiling.
After a good while of dazing, he tucked the image he had just seen into his mind, then prepared to sit up.
As he moved, he felt someone beside him.
Turning his head, he saw a figure with fiery red hair, quietly lie on the bedside.
Seeing this figure, Aiden involuntarily showed a smile, raising his hand to gently caress Jean's beautiful fiery red hair.
Feeling the touch, Jean, who had been sleeping with her eyes closed, seemed to sense something and slowly opened her eyes.
Immediately, her sapphire-like eyes met Aiden's gaze.
"Aiden, it's so good that you're alright!"
Jean immediately pounced onto Aiden, hugging him tightly, her voice trembling as she cried.
Suddenly hugged by Jean, Aiden was a bit slow to react.
But very quickly, he smiled and raised his hand to pat Jean's head, comforting her gently, "Don't cry, I'm fine, aren't I!"
He didn't know how much time had passed before he finally comforted Jean and stopped her crying.
After Jean sat up, her face red, a somewhat helpless voice came from outside the room.
"Aiden, you rascal, you really don't make things easy for people! Do you know you've been unconscious for two and a half months?"
The owner of the voice was, of course, Charles.
The moment Aiden woke up, Charles sensed his mental fluctuations and immediately rushed over.
Hearing Charles say that he had been unconscious for two and a half months, Aiden was also greatly astonished.
At the same time, he couldn't help but marvel at the terrifying energy within Jean.
"I'm sorry, Professor, for making you all worry!"
At this moment, Hank and Danny, who had received the news, also rushed over, all standing by the window, their faces showing a mix of joy and reproach.
"Aiden, why did you suddenly fall unconscious for so long? Are you sick?" Danny asked with concern.
"I'm not sick, thank you, Danny."
He couldn't very well say it was because of Jean that he fell unconscious again, could he?
If he did, the little girl would probably blame herself and overthink things again.
Seeing that Aiden was fine, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
Especially Jean.
Perhaps because Aiden was the first person who had no prejudice or rejection towards her.
Or perhaps because of her, Aiden had fallen unconscious, and Jean felt very guilty about it. Unconscious again
