"The finals of the Summer Playoffs of the Pokémon Professional League are about to begin..."
"Let's welcome the two finalist teams! On one side, the defending champions: Team SkyCrown! And on the other, the great dark horses of this season: Team Devon!"
Just as Ethan Black was calmly enjoying his banquet, suddenly the noise of a television caught his attention.
It seemed that at some point, an employee had turned on the TV, which was broadcasting a live Pokémon battle.
"Pokémon Professional League?"
Hearing that name, Ethan Black felt a strange sense of familiarity, remembering those scenes when he and his friends would spend hours in the cybercafé playing in groups.
"But what is the Pokémon Professional League? Is it some new game from a company?"
With doubt, Ethan Black turned his head, and at that moment, he saw on the TV screen a massive battlefield. On both sides of the arena, five people were standing.
"A five-versus-five battle?"
Ethan Black blinked. Although it looked like a Pokémon competition, having five people participate simultaneously was already quite eye-catching.
"The teams are ready! Now let's spin the main screen to decide the battlefield!"
With the voice of the announcer, the stadium's giant screen began to flash until it finally stopped at the Grass Field.
"Oh, oh, oh! Field confirmed! It will be a battle on grassy terrain!"
Once the terrain was decided, the stadium roared loudly. The battlefield slowly descended, while a new arena completely covered in grass emerged and replaced it.
"Because Team SkyCrown has more points, they will choose their side first!"
Once the terrain was fully set up, the announcer shouted this aloud.
Hearing this, the trainer from Team SkyCrown raised a red card, indicating they chose the red side.
"Sides have been chosen! Team SkyCrown chose the red side, which means Team Devon will send out their Pokémon first."
"Go, Flygon!"
Following the cue, a member of Team Devon threw out a Poké Ball, from which a Flygon emerged.
"Ohhh! Team Devon's first Pokémon is Flygon! A Ground- and Dragon-type Pokémon! Moreover, Flygon has a special ability that makes it immune to Ground-type moves. How will Team SkyCrown respond?"
The commentator began narrating with excitement.
"With resistance to Electric- and Ground-type moves, Flygon is an excellent choice as a lead Pokémon," added another commentator, nodding in clear admiration.
"Go, Walrein!"
Team SkyCrown responded quickly, sending out an imposing Walrein onto the field.
"There it is! In response to the Ground- and Dragon-type Flygon, Team SkyCrown sends out Walrein, which has Ice typing."
"Ice-type moves are four times super effective against Flygon, and its Water typing makes it ideal for resisting Rock-type moves. Without a doubt, a very solid choice," added the second commentator, nodding repeatedly.
"Then it's your turn! Go, Electabuzz!"
Team Devon did not fall behind and sent out Electabuzz.
"There it is! Team Devon deploys its aerial cannon strategy! With Flygon covering against Ground-type Pokémon, Electabuzz has no natural counters. A perfectly executed tactic!" narrated the commentator with deep knowledge of battle, unleashing an ovation from the crowd.
