Chapter 19: The King of the Forest, Titan Giant Ape
Looking back, aside from Tang San, how much soul power did the other Shrek Seven Devils have before they enrolled?
How many levels did they increase in their soul power after two years of training under Yu Xiaogang?
If it weren't for the Immortal Herb, the speed at which the Shrek Seven Devils' soul power increased over the past two years could be described as "useless." They completely wasted their high potential.
After graduating, without Yu Xiaogang, the Shrek Seven Devils all reached around the Soul Zong level in just five years, each gaining several levels, with a few of them increasing by 18 or 19 levels.
This shows how terrible Yu Xiaogang's teaching level was; he completely wasted them!
So, Ye Wen never wanted Tang San to leave Yu Xiaogang's side. He should just stay there and train.
As for forcing Tang San and Tang Hao to show up?
Ye Wen could just kill Tang Hao later; he wasn't so desperate to use such despicable methods.
"Xie Hu, Xiao Bai, let's go." Ye Wen retracted his power, ready to leave.
"Yes, boss."
The three of them left Notting City and headed toward the Star Dou Forest.
Tang Hao, badly injured, had escaped to the vicinity of Shrek Academy. He was hesitating whether to take Tang San with him, but after carefully recalling what Ye Wen had said when they left, he wasn't sure if Ye Wen would actually harm Tang San.
From Tang Hao's perspective, they didn't have deep enmity between them!
It all started because Tang San had been beaten by Ye Wen in his human form, and Tang Hao wanted to retaliate. But in the end, he himself was the one who got beaten by Ye Wen in his half-human form.
It was all because of this.
Now, Tang Hao didn't want to take Tang San with him. After some consideration, he decided to continue protecting Tang San from the shadows for a while.
A few days later, the three students who had beaten Tang San didn't return to Notting Academy, and the terrifying strong man who had beaten Tang Hao also didn't show up again. Tang Hao finally felt more at ease.
This experience had been a deep lesson for Tang Hao. He was now psychologically scarred and didn't want to randomly get involved in fights anymore.
After a few days, Ye Wen, Xie Hu, and Xiao Bai arrived near the Star Dou Forest.
The three of them stood on a high point, gazing in awe at the vast forest before them, so large it seemed to have no end.
As sea soul beasts, they had never seen such a vast forest before.
Xie Hu excitedly said, "Boss, I'm kind of looking forward to this now."
Xiao Bai added, "Me too. I want to see how many land soul beasts I've never seen before in there."
There were many scattered islands in the ocean, some large, some small. But none of them were really big. For example, when the Shrek Seven Devils first went to Sea God Island, they were attacked by the Deep Sea Magic Whale King, fell into the ocean, and eventually drifted to a place called Pearl Island.
Among these scattered islands, there were some land soul beasts, but the variety wasn't large.
"I'm also looking forward to it," Ye Wen smiled. Although he knew about Star Dou Forest, this was his first time experiencing it personally.
"Let's go."
"Okay."
The three of them entered the Star Dou Forest, heading straight for the Life Lake in the core area.
"Xie Hu, Xiao Bai, even though we're in our half-human form, it will still take us a few days to reach Life Lake, so we'll take turns switching to our half-human forms," Ye Wen said.
"Alright, I'll start," Xiao Bai said, switching to her half-human form.
She quickly carried Ye Wen and Xie Hu in her arms, rushing deeper into the forest.
At this moment, Ye Wen, Xie Hu, and Xiao Bai's human forms were still at only level ten. Entering the dangerous Star Dou Forest, especially near the inner regions, could result in them being killed by soul beasts.
Sometimes, soul beasts would appear suddenly, leaving no time to switch forms.
Moreover, the time limit for the half-human form on land wasn't reset when they switched back to their human form. There was a cooldown to be mindful of.
So, they needed to take turns, ensuring that one of them was always in the half-human form for safety.
Through this method, the three of them got closer and closer to Life Lake.
A few days later, they finally reached the vicinity of Life Lake.
Lying on the land near Life Lake, enjoying the coolness, the Titan Giant Ape seemed to sense something and immediately stood up, contacting the Sky Blue Bull Python under the lake.
"Big Brother! It seems something powerful is coming toward us!"
"Hm? Is it a human?"
"They're coming!"
Whoosh!
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Ye Wen, Xie Hu, and Xiao Bai, all in their half-human forms, landed from above, standing just under 200 meters away from the Titan Giant Ape.
"Whoa, so this is the Titan Giant Ape! It looks pretty imposing," Ye Wen stood in the middle, smiling faintly as he observed the giant gorilla.
It looked like a cross between a monkey and a chimpanzee, its body covered in muscles harder than granite. It stood over 15 meters tall, just shy of 20 meters.
Its strength, speed, and physical toughness were unrivaled, surpassing Xiao Bai.
"Is it a human?"
The Sky Blue Bull Python, hidden in the lake, didn't reveal itself, instead communicating with Er Ming.
Er Ming carefully observed Ye Wen and the others. They looked human but were slightly different, and he couldn't quite figure them out.
"They don't seem like regular humans," Er Ming said.
"Really? Er Ming, get rid of them!"
"Get out of here!!"
The Titan Giant Ape roared at Ye Wen and his group. The overwhelming aura made Xie Hu and Xiao Bai feel a little intimidated.
"This is a hundred-thousand-year soul beast? The Titan Giant Ape's strength seems far beyond mine," Xiao Bai's face grew serious.
Not only Xiao Bai but even Xie Hu wasn't confident he could defeat the Titan Giant Ape.
"We didn't come here just to walk around," Ye Wen said to the Titan Giant Ape.
"Is that so? Then what do you want?" The Titan Giant Ape's killing intent rose.
"Don't worry, we're not here to hunt you, nor do we want your hundred-thousand-year soul beast," Ye Wen said, not wasting time. "We came here to tell you that from now on, Life Lake will be my domain!"
"And you will become my loyal subordinates."
The Titan Giant Ape was stunned. While humans often tried to hunt them for their hundred-thousand-year soul beasts and soul rings, this was the first time someone said they wanted them as subordinates.
No matter the reason, though, the Titan Giant Ape wasn't going to show any favor: "I'll give you ten seconds to leave! Otherwise, you will face the wrath of the King of the Forest!"
"The King of the Forest? Hahahahaha!" Ye Wen laughed, shaking his head in disbelief. "I thought the King of the Forest was a title given to you by humans. But now, you really think of yourself as the King of the Forest?"
