Chapter 22 - Creating A magical array

First, Norris considered the hardware.

He was going to draw the magical circles of the array. The mystical logic was important so he had to carefully consider.

After thinking for a moment, he finally decided that the circle, triangle and the spiral.

The circle, in mysticism, symbolized unity, wholeness, the continuous cycle of life, eternal flow of energy, and completeness. It was ideal for continuous monitoring and feedback. The triangle stood for stability, balance, the trinity, structural integrity, and foundational support. The spiral signified dynamic growth, evolution, adaptability; suitable for real-time adjustments.

He took out a book and wrote it down. The mystical symbolism and his definition in more techno terms.

Norris didn't need too think to much about the next part. He had already prepared it. It was the most expensive part of the array—the spell materials.

Norris preferred using gems, as they were the most standard mystical material. They had a universal meaning in mysticism. Blood as an alternative magical material on the other hand has a thousand meaning. Bad git business.

He carefully selected the gems he had chosen based on their mystical meanings.

The Mortisium Shard would serve as the core of the array. A necromantic material useful in the creation of wands. Connecting with the user's soul and providing the necromantic power necessary for the engraving process.

Celestial Quartz, revered for its precision and clarity, would enhance the precision and calculation abilities of the array, ensuring the resonance frequency was accurately calculated.

The Labradorite's ability to reveal hidden truths. A magic material useful for learning some particular divination spells. It would aid in resonance and would be crucial in fine-tuning the array's performance and enhancing its ability to perceive information.

Amethyst, known for its calming properties and stability and most widely known for being used by big families for aiding their heirs for their first meditation. It would act as a stabilizer, preventing mental instability during the engraving process.

Moonstones, a unique gem made from gems exposed to moon magic believed to connect lovers, would emit a soft, ethereal light and facilitate intuitive connection and meditation, enabling the user to easily tap into the array's power.

Getting ready to draw the array, Norris took out his ink and materials.

In his opinion, the ink needed to be neutral, not carrying any strong symbolism of its own, encompassing all. As a base, he would use Ink of Eternal Binding—made from rare, enchanted herbs and minerals for potent inscriptions. He would mix it with Silver Dust to enhance magical conductivity and create a shimmering effect, and add Dragon's Blood Resin to grant the inscriptions resilience and longevity.

Norris used a ritualistic quill made from a griffin's feather for precise and powerful inscriptions.

He began by drawing the circle. Dipping the quill into the ink mixture, Norris traced a perfect circle on the surface. The ink glowed faintly as it absorbed the ambient magical energies, symbolizing unity, wholeness, and the continuous cycle of life.

Next, Norris drew the triangle. He positioned the vertices of the triangle so that they touched the perimeter of the circle. With the same precise technique, he drew the triangle with Celestial Quartz at each vertex, representing stability, balance, and the trinity.

For the final shape, Norris drew the spiral, which extended outward from the center of the circle and triangle. The spiral was composed of Moonstones, each placed meticulously along the path of the spiral. The spiral symbolized dynamic growth, evolution, and adaptability, allowing the formation to make real-time adjustments.

As Norris completed the drawing, he felt a surge of energy. The shapes began to resonate with each other, their mystical properties harmonizing to create a cohesive and powerful formation. The circle, triangle, and spiral were now perfectly integrated, each contributing to the overall stability and functionality of the array.

However, issues soon arose. The separation of the circle and triangle caused a disjointed flow of energy; energy conflict, concept conflict, a lot of reasons. Monitoring was inconsistent, and the formation lacked harmony. Feedback was delayed, and the prompts from the Moonstones were not as effective.

Norris looked at everything feeling calm. If it worked immediately, Norris would have been scared. No problem would become the biggest problem.

Norris decided to integrate the shapes mystically and conceptually first. A little critical thinking was needed here.

He had tried the circle as the core, with the triangle bordering it and the spiral coming from the absolute center.

Norris originally designed the array with the circle at the core, placed a triangle around it to provide structure and stability, and had a spiral emerge from the center, representing growth and adaptability.

Mystically, this setup aimed to balance monitoring, containment, and evolution. However, the triangle's rigid boundary conflicted with the circle's expansive nature, and the spiral struggled to harmonize with both.

Without proper integration, the shapes remained conceptually isolated, causing energy delays and instability. By using rarer materials as ink base —like Etherroot Essence or Phoenix Ash—he could harmonize the array's energy flow easily.

So almost all the problems one can face can be solved by throwing buttloads amount of money at it.

Unfortunately he didn't have. Forming bad habits just because he had a sponsor now wasn't ideal.

Neutral ink is still the best for him. Cheap, and all encompassing—high iq way of saying it. Not attracted to anything making it a base that requires effort—low EQ way of saying.

**

Norris looked at the base that finally lit up, the hall adding a little atmosphere to the site.

He wasn't in the mood though to appreciate. This had proven to be quite tasking.

Spending 2 days without rest didn't burden his body, but his mind felt heavy. Having never experienced creating an array him himself, he didn't know..oh he didn't know.

The hardest part was to remove the domain the array had created. Different array concept would affect each other. An ink with phoenix ash would only need to be burned and the array would undergo nirvana becoming anew. The predicament of the poor.

Tsk tsk tsk. Plane exploration. Political war. The things he faced just cus he lacked. Norris mused with amusement.

Self pity over. Now it's time to draw the final base…..or is it the final?

He erased what was there. It was imperfect. He took time to remove the domain. It was…. Frustrating.

He redrew the array from scratch. The circle would remain the outermost boundary, symbolizing unity and continuous monitoring.

But this time, the triangle would be inscribed so that its vertices pierced the circle's perimeter, allowing the structural integrity of the triangle to harmonize with the circle's flow. The spiral would begin at the Mortisium Shard in the center, winding outward through the triangle and extending to the circle's edge, ensuring real-time adaptability and feedback.

He placed Celestial Quartz at each triangle vertex, Labradorite at the midpoints of the triangle's sides, Amethyst evenly spaced along the circle's perimeter, and Moonstones along the spiral's path. The Mortisium Shard remained the core.

His griffin feather quill to inscribe the new formation. A faint echo spiral was layered between the triangle and circle to buffer energy flow. When he finished, the array pulsed gently, the shapes no longer in conflict but in harmony.

A brief light show was conducted as a dark sacred like beam moved from the shard through the whole array.

The moment it reached it made a complete loop the whole array felt like....a space within.

Norris nodded. This was the correct pattern. Mystically sound. Conceptually whole.
