Chapter 52 - Chapter 49: Nobody

Linde stood outside his tent, throwing cut pieces of meat far away for Glory to fetch them back, then rewarding him with the meat to eat.

This was a training method to improve Glory's obedience; at first, Glory would eat the meat directly, but after being punished by Linde a few times, he learned not to eat the meat casually and voluntarily changed his behavior to bring the meat back.

Although, during training, Glory still ate the meat about half the time, it was already much better than the day before; it was believed that after another month or two of training, Glory would be able to completely obey Linde's commands.

Compared to the visible results of obedience training, the training of Glory's wildness was stagnant; currently, it could only ensure that Glory did not bite people indiscriminately, but if anyone got too close to Glory, he would still attack them without hesitation.

For this reason, Linde had to choose to train Glory when no one was around, and when there were many people, he would put Glory in a cloth bag or tie him to his body with an iron chain, covering his mouth with a special muzzle.

While waiting for Glory to bring the meat back, Linde also occasionally turned his head to look at his tent.

After returning to the camp, Linde led Bowo, a Faceless Men who had disguised himself as a House Tyrell soldier, to his tent, where he met Daenerys, who was already disheartened and whose body was the only part of her still alive.

Daenerys showed no emotion in front of others, but when she saw Linde, her savior, she displayed a hint of emotion; however, this emotion was not gratitude for Linde saving her life, but rather a wish for Linde to kill her now.

The moment the Faceless Men saw Daenerys, he immediately determined that this was the purpose for which the Thousand-Faced God had plucked the strings of fate to guide him to Westeros.

However, Daenerys was like a dead person at the moment, with no reaction to the outside world, let alone the ability to talk or communicate.

After several attempts to elicit any reaction from Daenerys, the Faceless Men Bowo indicated to Linde that he wished Linde would wait outside the tent for a while, allowing him to be alone with Daenerys for some time.

After confirming that the Faceless Men would not harm Daenerys, Linde agreed to his request and went outside the tent, but did not go far, sitting a few steps away, training Glory while checking the situation inside the tent.

However, what surprised Linde was that even though he was very close to the tent, he could not hear any sound inside, not even breathing, and his other senses could not perceive any movement inside, as if the tent were empty.

This situation was clearly not something that could be formed by conventional forces; perhaps it involved the divine power of the Thousand-Faced God, which also made Linde curious about the Faceless Men Bowo's position within the House of Black and White; judging solely by his ability to use a bit of extraordinary power, he should be on a similar level to Melisandre's position in the Lord of Light's church.

Just as Linde was lost in thought, the tent flap was opened by the Faceless Men Bowo; he looked a bit tired, but a smile appeared on his face, indicating that he had successfully persuaded Daenerys.

He walked up to Linde, about to say something, when his expression suddenly changed, and he quickly moved aside; almost simultaneously, a black shadow rushed out from behind him, brushing past him.

The Faceless Men, who had dodged the attack from behind, looked at the black shadow and realized it was the albino Shadow Lynx cub he knew.

Because Linde had spent a long time with Glory, he didn't feel the changes in Glory's body that deeply; he could only tell that Glory was growing based on his gradually increasing size and weight.

But Bowo was different; he had seen Glory in the Kingswood and knew exactly what Glory was like, and now seeing Glory again, he found that Glory had not only grown a lot but had also become much fiercer; this fierceness was not just the attack on him just now, but more so the black stripes on Glory's body, which, after growing out, subtly formed a ghost-like pattern, and the several black lines on his forehead made him look very ferocious.

"How did his wildness become so strong?" Bowo couldn't help but ask.

However, Linde was destined not to be able to provide an answer, as he also wanted to know the reason for Glory's intense wildness.

Although he was very curious about Glory's situation, Bowo knew what was important, so he didn't dwell on that question, instead returning to the main topic, saying, "She's not easy to move right now; could you find a few people to help me carry her to the dock on a stretcher?"

Upon hearing this, Linde did not respond immediately, but instead entered the tent to check on Daenerys's condition.

From Daenerys's revitalized expression, it was not difficult to see that Bowo had likely persuaded her, but beneath this vitality, Linde could vaguely sense intense hatred.

"Have you truly decided to go with him to Braavos across the Narrow Sea?" Linde crouched by the bed, looking at Daenerys and saying, "If you don't want to, I can take you in."

Daenerys shook her head, wanting to open her mouth to speak, but her throat seemed injured, and she couldn't say anything; however, even without speaking, Linde could discern her decision from her expression.

"I understand. May the Seven Gods bless you to live well across the Narrow Sea and no longer suffer harm," Linde said, reaching out to touch Daenerys's forehead, softly offering a blessing.

Gratitude appeared in Daenerys's eyes, and tears welled up from the corners of her eyes.

Linde stood up and walked out of the tent, asking Raul to call four men and find a stretcher; then he moved Daenerys onto the stretcher, brought a blanket to cover her, and had them carry her out of the tent.

As he walked out of the tent, Linde felt someone pull his hand; he looked down and saw Daenerys using all her strength to raise her injured hand and grasp his arm, then he heard Daenerys utter a completely indistinct sound in an extremely hoarse voice.

Although the sound did not resemble any language, Linde could understand that it was saying thank you.

Linde patted her hand, then took his hand and tucked it back into the blanket, and then placed the dagger from his waist, which Garlan had given him after the cavalry was formed, by her side.

"Take good care of her," Linde said to the Faceless Men Bowo.

The Faceless Men smiled and said, "She is my student; I will naturally take good care of her."

The group exited the camp and quickly disappeared from Linde's sight.

The Faceless Men and his companions moved quickly, passing directly through the slums outside the city; thanks to the deterrent power of the four House Tyrell soldiers, they encountered no trouble on their way and arrived smoothly at the dock area.

Then, under the direction of the Faceless Men, the four men carried Daenerys onto a merchant ship docked at the pier, flying the flag of a Free Cities, and brought her to a room on the upper deck next to the captain's cabin.

After the four soldiers disembarked and left, the Faceless Men ordered the captain to set sail; although there were still goods to be loaded, due to the Faceless Men's special status, the captain dared not hesitate and immediately called all the sailors to hoist the sails and set off.

Watching the ship slowly leave the harbor, pass through the capstan tower, and enter the waters of Blackwater Bay, the Faceless Men then turned and returned to his cabin.

He walked to the bed, sat on a stool, and looked at Daenerys, who was turning her head to look out the window at the night, and said, "Whatever your name was before, from this moment on you must discard it, just as you discard your past."

Hearing the words of the Faceless Men, Daenerys turned to look at the Faceless Men, with no expression of opposition on her face; instead, there was a hint of relief in her eyes.

"I will give you a new name, and this will represent your new life," Bowo said again, seeing that Daenerys did not refuse.

Daenerys nodded slightly, indicating her agreement.

"You will take my surname, H'ghar, and as for your given name…" The Faceless Men thought for a moment and said, "Let's call you Jaqen! Jaqen H'ghar."

Early the next morning, Linde was still in bed when he was startled by the raised tent flap; as he looked towards the tent entrance, his hand also went to the axe beside him, ready to counterattack at any moment if attacked.

"It's me, no need to be nervous." Noticing Linde's movement, Fotimo's face showed approval, then returned to his usual serious expression, saying, "Get up quickly, get dressed, and go to the main tent; there are orders to be given."

Linde rubbed his face vigorously to quickly wake himself up, then simply put on some clothes, hung his sword at his waist, picked up Glory, who was still asleep, from the bed, tucked him into the cloth bag on his chest, and then walked out of the tent, hurrying towards the main camp tent.
