Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: Train ride (2)

Myleane's looks up to witness a giant red goo monster, it's physical form constantly changing with numerous tentacles extending from the main body. "You again?"

She sets her spear on fire and shoots it at the inflated bloodkin. As soon as her war spear touched bloodkin's viscous body it exploded into flames and actually managed to burn a chunk of bloodkin's inflated body.

This gave bit confidence to Myleane but flames didn't last long, the goo slowly twisted in circular motion, taking the burning spear deep inside it. Even Myleane's was flabbergasted by the scene in front of her. "Is it… eating my flames?"

At the core of bloodkin's blood glob like body the spear burned violently, it began to form bubbles as it burned from the inside out.

Myleane saw two giant tentacle flying ahead, it attached itself with the first cart and reinforced the tracks. Slowly it started to twist the support shafts.

'It is stopping the train? No.' She gritted her and began to ran away from the bloodkin.

The hundred-foot-long tentacles suddenly jerked the entire train track which sent multiple carts flying, with them I and Myleane were in the air. We were directly in line of the burning war spear, it was so scorching that even I could feel the hot air hitting my face.

Meanwhile, Myleane was trying her hardest to reach me, I was just hair length away from my grip. She really believed that I had some kind of contingency plan, which I did.

A small tentacle wrapped itself around my leg and pulled me away from her. Myleane's facial expression at that moment was too funny, she looked really pissed.

A hole opened up on the bloodkin's inflated body, with a loud bang the war spear was spit out along with a lot of burning hot red goo. The spear hit the crimson beast's stomach and nailed her to a cart.

While I was thrown up at the top of the giant blood ball, at the very top bloodkin's original body lay half embedded with the giant thing. Even though the disguise skin was mostly bloated and burned, the bloodkin stayed in it because of my order.

BOOM!

A ton of boiling blood was spit every where as the bloodkin struggled to stay in one piece. I ignored the screams behind me as Myleane is getting cooked alive and approached the bloodkin with utmost caution. "You got little fat… ate lots of humans aye?"

Any newly summoned creature when is granted with obscene amounts of power or love will naturally turn it's neck and bite it's master, that's the norm. The creatures born in darkness itself has even more tendencies to go berserk and at this exact moment, I do not have the energy or the resources to fight this mutated blood monster.

"Do you remember me?" As I ask this question, I try to assert my dominance on his consciousness with my manaflow.

The bloodkin creepily snaps his neck towards me.

I expected some resistance but the creature just tore through his skin cover and crawled in my direction. I kneeled before the bloodkin and let it rest on my body as a slimy jacket in my coat. "That was easy."

With the main body of the bloodkin gone, the giant red glob stopped moving all together, it just stayed in one position like a statue.

BOOM! BOOM!

Multiple explosions destroyed the supporting tentacles which kept this entire track somewhat intact. The giant bloodkin's body began to tilt on side, I dug my fingers through the viscous blood to hold my position, from above fell multiple assassins.

They threw many pipe bombs at the bloodkin's giant body which disrupted the overall balance of the entire track.

"Are they trying to kill us all?" I watch them aiding Myleane by taking out the war spear out of her stomach. With no choice left, I rewire my mana to the bloodkin. "Can you do this?"

On the metallic cart away from the giant blood monster, the assassins poured multiple potions down their mistress's throat. "Is she waking up?" The man covered in black bandana asks.

"No, she lost consciousness by a concession to the head. Her body appears to be burned badly as well."

"Well? I am out of bombs! We need to do something about that!" The bald assassin standing furthermost points at the blood glob.

They all are waiting from the leader who is busy chugging potion down Myleane's throat. His last vial ends with no signs of Myleane waking up.

"What are we going to do?" Again, the bald assassin who is standing at the furthermost throwing bombs questions.

The leader gracefully picks up his mistress and faces the unholy creature. "Why isn't he moving?" He asks in calm voice.

"W-We don't know. He was like that we jumped." The leader glances at other members who all back the previous sentence.

After reassessing the situation the leader spoke once more. "We cannot mindlessly attack this being. Look around you, the support shafts which upheld the tracks are already broken and the creature now holds the tracks together, it holds our lives."

The assassins glance at each other in distress.

"If we piss that thing off, I don't think we live to see another day. Therefore, I suggest falling back. We still have the mistress, I am optimistic that master will tolerate any failure as long as mistress is alive."

The assassins agree with their leader and take out a strange crystal.

As they were about to break it and retreat to safety, the blood monster moves once more. A number of new tentacles were shot out and remaining wreckage of train was thrown down, along with the metallic cart. "No! Don't break the-"

In panic, the bald assassin broke the strange crystal but instead of safely teleporting him, he immediately was squashed between two separate spaces which crushed the very atoms of his body, splitting it in half. In a blink of an eye, the bald assassin's torso was crushed and his upper body disappeared.

The others, fearing for their lives chose not to break theirs.

As the pit slowly consumed the metallic cart, the leader's worry began to increase. He knew that if he fell straight into the dungeon, there will be no way out. But just as the light started to dim, they abruptly stopped.

The effect of suddenly going from godspeed to stationery was so strong that both hands of the bandana assassin which held onto rusty lever broke and shattered his chest.

The leader survived because he held Myleane, unknowingly he used her as a cushion to absorb the shock. In the process, she only received minor injuries and few fractures.

With a small jerk, the broken track along with all the broken carts were being pulled up. The leader mostly unharmed, glanced outside to see they have been trapped in someone's mana field. "G-Gravity magic?"

Above, I burned through large chunks of mana to 'drag' the entire fallen wreckage. The purple magic circle below my feet was blinking constantly as it was on the verge of breaking apart.

Once close enough, the bloodkin wrapped it's tentacles all over the wreckage, keeping them from falling.

The leader held Myleane close and glanced out, what he saw terrified him. The metallic cart was in the centre of a giant web net made up of viscous blood and the red glob monster was moving around, eating every solid substance.

'She is not here.' Bloodkin absorbs tons of metal, it's tentacles grotesquely tearing everything apart.

'She is not here! Ugh!' I sense that the bloodkin is curious about my anxiety. 'Did she really fell all the way down? No, but she could fly. I was positive that she grabbed onto something… Ugh.'

The bloodkin looked straight into my eyes, smiling through his half torn skin face. 'This expression is not good.'

In the corner of my eye I spotted an assassin carrying Myleane, he stepped out of a cart and teleported away.

Meanwhile, the bloodkin never broke eye contact with me. It just stood there, creepily looking at me. 'If I saw him, certainly he did too. But the fact he didn't craved after their blood… is not good.'

As I stepped back, the bloodkin literally slithered out of the red glob and materialized in front of me. He was tall, taller than I made him. His smile still not fading.

With a cold heart, I decide my next move. "Toss me over there." I point up at the other edge of the pit. "After that exactly 13 seconds later, disintegrate your body. In the depth, find the witch."

As my mana transmission ends, the bloodkin takes comically large step to stand right in front of me, his pupilless eyes piercing me.

When the summoned creature assumes to take control, it starts by finding a mistake, a weakness in it's master. At that point, the master should stand tall, trampling any thoughts of liberation.

After observing my face for three while minutes, the bloodkin decides not to assume control and obey for now. It wraps it arm around me and threw me straight into the air.
