My eyes fluttered open to the bright light above me, and I felt a familiar hand on my chest. I turned to face her and smiled when she started murmuring incoherent words in her dreams.
I stretched my hand and rubbed her hair. I remembered that she had saved me from becoming paralyzed after being affected by the Letiti. If not for her, I had no idea what could have happened to me.
"I can feel it, Draven," my Lycan, Ash, shouted excitedly. "The wolf Ruka is back!" he howled. "After so many years, she is finally back."
"That explains the strong connection," I replied to him.
I could feel it too.
The bond had returned, and this time, it was stronger, feeling like a magnetic force pulling us closer to one another. "She's beautiful," I muttered, and suddenly, I felt an ache in my heart.
