Kenneth ignored her, his gaze locked on Adanna. "Are you shopping for the family ball, Miss Arinze? I hear it's going to be the event of the year. My wife and I would love an invitation."
Adanna's lips curved into a sly, almost dangerous smile. "You? At the Arinze family ball?" She let out a soft, disbelieving laugh. "I'm afraid that won't be possible. Our guest list is… selective."
The crowd buzzed, whispers spreading like wildfire. Lydia's face burned crimson.
"You—" Lydia started, but Adanna cut her off, her voice low and steady, filled with quiet authority.
"And as for these shoes," Adanna continued, gesturing to the manager without looking away from Lydia, "please reserve them for Miss Olaedo. We wouldn't want an incident like this to ruin anyone's shopping experience, would we?"
The manager nodded quickly, almost bowing. "Of course, Miss Arinze. Right away."
