Chapter 18 - Show Me Some Respect!

She blinked in disbelief at the dark bags under his eyes and his weary expression. Was this really the same man who had looked so dashing and full of life just hours ago?

Even the servants paused, visibly taken aback. It was the first time any of them had seen their Young Master look so worn out.

Meanwhile, Chibuzor met her gaze with a darkening expression, his handsome features marred by exhaustion.

This woman's constant mistakes caused me to barely get a wink of sleep and now she is still bringing attention to my weird face?!

It seems like if I don't teach her a lesson, she wouldn't learn to show me some respect.

He rose up and walked to her with a "gentle" smile. Reaching her, he hugged her shoulders and flashed a brighter smile that looked real to the servants but only Olaedo knew that it was the epitome of fake!

"Good morning Mrs Arinze. Gosh I waited for so long to call you this, that it can never be enough." He 'whispered' lovely then continued, "Shocked to see my face, huh? Isn't it because of you that I did not get enough sleep last night?"

Olaedo "..?"

As he said this, everyone had a look of realisation on their faces. How could they forget, last night they both seemed to have stayed up quite late!

Many of them especially the older servants smiled happily knowing that a little young master or young mistress was on the way. The younger ones couldn't hide their blush as they looked away.

While everyone was celebrating silently, Olaedo stood confused... then slowly the implication of Chibuzor's words dawned on her as she saw the reactions of everyone.

Chibuzor!

"Y-You! That di-" she stammered speechless.

"Are you not going to take responsibility for me anymore? Chibuzor asked, his face drooping sadly. Then he added, "If I remember correctly, it was your ide-"

"Shut up already!" Olaedo whispered as she hurriedly covered his mouth.

Silence

Seconds passed before she realized what she just did and hurriedly retracted her hand.

Still, as if to confirm what she had in mind, uncontrollable giggles erupted in the dining room.

Chibuzor!

She screamed internally.

Not knowing what else to do, she covered her bright red face with both palms and allowed Chibuzor to lead her to the seat beside his.

With a satisfied grin, Chibuzor picked up his phone, clearly enjoying the sight of her flustered expression, something he had never seen from her until now.

The maids served breakfast with a smile. Some of them who were bold and had started developing some levels of friendship with Olaedo secretly nudged her and whispered to her to make sure she eat well to nourish herself.

Olaedo's face turned several shades of pink as they did, but she did not resist.

Chibuzor's occasionally smug gaze didn't help matters at all.

Finally, a particular maid blocked her from his sight, making her feel much better.

Silently, she bit into her sandwich and sipped her tea, feeling the weight of their teasing yet unable to escape the playful embarrassment of the moment.

But then, Olaedo suddenly paused,

Oof

She coughed but found no relief.

Her hands moved to her face as she started scratching furiously. Her cheeks turned an alarming shade of red.

At first, everyone, including Chibuzor, thought she was just feeling shy. But when she began gasping for air, panic set in.

What's happening to the young madam? The servants wondered frozen in their tracks, their earlier calm shattered. Whispers of worry filled the room as their gazes darted toward the Young Madam.

Was something happening to her and their potential young heir? They thought worriedly.

Still they didn't dare act without instructions but stood poised, ready to help if called upon.

Chibuzor noticed something was wrong as well. "What's wrong, Olaedo?" he asked, rising from his seat and moving closer to her.

Amidst her allergic reaction, Olaedo couldn't respond. Her breaths came in gasps, her hands clutching at her throat as her face swelled.

Chibuzor, at a complete loss, handed her some water and reluctantly patted her back, thinking she might be choking.

But the issue continued.

Eventually, it became clear that this wasn't just a reaction to choking.

His jaw tightened.

Without wasting another second, he picked up his phone and dialed one of his friends, a doctor.

"Olisa, could you come over as soon as possible? It's urgent!"

On the other end of the line, Olisa chuckled. "Fine fine, I'm rushing out. But by urgent you mean..?"

"Just listen to me!" Chibuzor interrupted, panic creeping into his tone. "Swollen airways, sudden itching, redness, and bumps on the face, what do these symptoms point to?"

"What?" Olisa's voice turned serious. "That's an allergic reaction, you dummy! Where's the person's epipen? Inject it in the middle of their outer thigh. Hurry, man! And seriously? You made me rush out for this? Since when do you make such jokes? I'm going back home biko!"

Chibuzor didn't bother replying. Instead, he rushed upstairs to the second floor to find her epipen.

Bam!

He kicked the door open as he rushed into a room that looked like a market place.

"What th-?"

But he didn't have time to take it all in.

He hurriedly began his search at her dresser table.

His mood darkened as he tore through her table, throwing things left and right. This woman is so disorganized, it's infuriating! Something as important as an EpiPen, and she doesn't even keep it in an obvious place!

Abandoning the dresser, he walked into her closet his eyes scanning the large room.

Where is it?

Where is it?

Wait...

That looks familiar

He finally spotted something tucked beside her shoe rack. Grabbing it, he bolted to the elevator, his fingers drumming impatiently against the wall as it descended.

Once back downstairs, he knelt beside her and administered the injection swiftly into the middle of her outer thigh not bothering about the panic that had erupted around them.
