My name is max McKnight I'm just a guy who basically sticks to himself and doesn't bother anyone. Unless some asshole started it first.
Well anyway I work as an exorcist and in simple terms I'm a guy who makes sure that the spiritual side of the world isn't exposed too much to the world.
Because we all know how the government and human nature is.
Anyway I don't expel souls by praying or some shit no I literally fight them.
There's two types a lost and pure soul.
Pure souls are basically individuals who accepted their new forms and lost souls are the opposite thirsty for power and all other nonsense.
Of course pure souls aren't always pure some commit crimes like petty revenge on the ones they have grudge on or continuing their criminal acts.
We exorcist are basically police for these guys oh and don't think of us as heroes of justice of some bullshit we're not heroes we are individuals who make sure that the spiritual world doesn't get too exposed to non exorcist eyes.
To hide our real jobs we go under the name EXO. Which is a big time detective agency using fun's from relics of the past they managed to build this company to get resquest of strange sighting or missing persons.
Of course that's a front but it's semi true because EXO has a detective branch who are tasked for investigations of cultist activities.
Oh yeah of course some people got a lick on the spiritual side of the world and they want it for themselves and they usually go in a group.
Yeah we call these guys cultish and this guys are willing to do anything to get power or to worship a non existent god.
Also before you ask no god doesn't exist or maybe but who cares it hasn't been confirmed.
They did an investigation to see if hell is real but so far nothing and eventually they gave up.
And other mythological figures and legends were created because of past spirits that existed way before EXO was organized.
Like Thor, the monkey king,the slit mouth woman, and demons and angels did exist but they were just humans who died and were reborn as powerful spirits and became legends.
Now you're wondering how do I or anyone fight these spirits? Simple spiritual energy.
Spiritual energy is an energy source that comes from the soul and its like a power source that fuel the body with vitality and spiritual energy is harnessing the power of your own soul into pure energy.
Pure and lost souls can do this too but unlike humans their bodies are completely made of this stuff so they were more advanced in energy control than humans.
But of course we humans grow and adapt and eventually we become strong enough to Match them but of course only experienced humans can keep up.
Me? I'm In training but I'm making good progress.
Also spiritual energy has a unique attribute with different colors.
And along with that the user gains different abilities. Like extra senses, cloning yourself and also having the spirit of a mythical being or animal.
Sure I said that they weren't real but when they first made they didn't have names or forms now they do and it's engraved into someone's inner nature.
My own ability is a mix of my parents who I hope they burn in hell.
My ability allows me to create black constructs for my body and absorb energy.
The absorbing energy thing isn't anything related to my parents it's a trait that every black energy user can do.
My mom has a shadow manipulation ability while my dad has the ability to make energy constructs.
Just to be clear black energy users aren't common if anything they are rare.
It doesn't matter if you are related to a fellow black energy user or not you have a chance of getting it but it depends on the nature of your soul.
And no black energy users aren't curse or anything and they don't go crazy for power or turn evil. They still have self control. Well depending on the person.
Well enough about all of that you're probably thinking that I'm slaying lost souls or taking care of rogue souls or cultist. But nope.
I'm actually in my dormitory room listening to audio books.
Yes me the main character is being a lazy bum.
Well guess what? I'm human. Well as human as I'm still am but anyway I'm actually only break and tomorrow me and my buddies are planning to go to the beach.
And oh boy I was looking forward to that until.
Golden spell circle surrounded max while he was on his bed and he was instantly alarmed thinking that he was being attacked.
Max: what the hell!?
A golden light engulfed him completely and then vanishing along with the golden spell circle.
Leaving no trace of his absence.
Everything was a blur all max saw was golden lights everywhere and he felt like something was fusing with his body and soul but he didn't have time to wonder what.
It all ended with him crashing into the ground with him having a massive headache and he had the urge to vomit but he holds it in.
However he heard foot steps and he managed to see a girl who was gawking at him like she couldn't believe her eyes but he also noticed knights behind her.
she has blonde hair and a white dress and sanders but what caught his attention was that she had elf like ears.
Max: what in the-
Before he could question her the elf girl got up in his face and was smiling like she found something priceless.
Zelda: I can't believe it actually worked! I actually managed to summon a great hero from another world.
All max could do was blink at this wierd girl.
Max: wha-
Zelda noticed the great hero from a distant world was confused and she cleared her throat and showed more of royal status.
Zelda: apologies for my childish behavior. I'm Zelda princess of hyrule and I summoned you a legendary hero from a distant world who inherited the soul of the hero are destined to become a strong hero and defeat the calamity ganon.
Max blinked once. Twice and thrice.
And then it clicked.
Max: (goddamn it I've isekaied.)
