"Harper!" her fiancé called after her as she stormed off.
He rushed after her. I turned to Dominic and shook my head.
"Not cool, dude," I said.
He grunted and grabbed his tie, yanking it loose. Then he rolled up his sleeves until they sat at his elbows. I noticed he wasn't wearing his jacket anymore.
Then I spotted something familiar draped over Harper earlier. Of course. He must have given it to her.
"What's with the whole jerk routine?" I asked, dropping into one of the chairs. "Saying crap like that to the woman you clearly want back?"
"How about you try searching for your so-called wife for five years," he shot back, "and then she shows up with four kids and a man whose parents are heavily invested in one of your biggest companies in Europe. Then you find out he wants you to partner with him in building another company with your wife."
He paused, dragging in a breath. His jaw tightened, teeth grinding loud enough for me to hear.
