Chapter 27 - Competent Dumbledore (II)

Right upon the radar, there were not just one but about five red dots, and while the first natural reaction was to shrug them off as just another group of helicopters flying around, all five of them were forming a complete circle around their chips, and right now, they were all closing in.

"Strap in," Dumbledor said to him, as Everlearn grabbed the belts and tightened himself up.

In the next moment, Bumbledor opened a cap on the dashboard and tapped the button.

Immediately, Everlearn instantly felt a force descend on him, his back tightening on the seat.

"We have them surrounded, boss," the words resounded through a spaceship cabin, where two men in techno battle suits could be seen, their eyes peeled forward at the radar where a green light was rapidly approaching it.

"Don't worry about getting back the serum. Now that we've gotten the right formula, we can always reproduce it. So just get rid of them."

"Yes, boss," the man answered, switching off comms before he turned to the dashboard, tapping open a button before ordering, "Activate weapon…"

Those words had not been completed when—

BEEP!BEEEP!BEEEP!

The sound of beeps ringing through the entire room rang out loudly as the lighting immediately switched to red.

"What's wrong?"

"Incoming projectile… capability is enough to destroy the ship."

"Please evacuate in 3…"

The man's face changed wildly as his hand immediately reached for a button.

He tapped on it, and the entire seat beneath gave in, as the man found himself ejected from the ship downward. Yet he had not even fallen for a meter when he found the head of the bomb right before his nose, just beneath the ship.

"What the—!?"

KAAAABOOOOOOOOOOM!

The bomb tore straight through his head, carving the hole, the resulting explosion blasting upward toward the jet, which blew up with a gigantic BAANG!

Back in the ship, Everlearn could see one of the red dots suddenly switch off.

"You got one down already!?" he mused out in surprise, turning to look at Dumbledor, but the man was in his own world.

He had pushed Everlearn's seat to the back, leaving himself wide with the keyboards, and right now, it was as if he was operating on a keyboard.

Buttons were rapidly being tapped with speed, the only words to be heard, and at the same time, the ship's speed was only increasing.

All around the ship were bombs, with locks chasing it down all over the air, yet with incredible maneuver and speed, the ship managed to dodge every single thing—maneuvering so much that the bombs ended up collapsing into each other while the jet blasted out of the smoke unharmed.

Immediately—

WHHII!WHHHHIR!

Two loud mechanical sounds resounded as the underside of the helicopter opened up, leading out to two massive protrusions rising higher into the air.

WHIIIIIR!

A unique turning sound, and in the next moment—

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

Both portions opened up, firing two powerful bombs that quickly disappeared through the sky.

The ship burst out with speed in the next moment as another bomb rapidly chased after it.

"Two lights off!?" Everlearn mused to himself, watching two of the lights on the radar suddenly go off.

BOOOOOOOM!

A sudden explosion occurred from the side of the ship, tilting it to the side for a moment, and Everlearn's heart almost jumped out of his chest, but it was fine—as soon enough, the ship stabilized itself with no problem.

Opening up another cap right above the cabin sky, Dumbledor had reached out and slammed his fist onto the button.

Outside…

WHOOOOOOR!

The sound made was like a suppressed roar as another protrusion, this time twice as massive, came out from the underside of the ship.

Crimson rays of light burst out through the clouds, illuminating two other battle jets currently streaming through the clouds with speed, and in the next moment—

KAAAABOOOOOM!

A thunderous explosion followed as the massive protrusion shot out a massive bomb, smaller—about half a meter—yet it was incredibly fast, blasting open shockwaves as it rushed forward toward the ship and shot through it in an instant.

The jet itself continued into the distance for a couple more seconds before—

KAAAAAABOOOOOM!

A thunderous explosion rocked through the sky as it blew up with a powerful bang.

"Another light off."

"Come in, boss."

"What is going on, Kira? I'm trying to reach the others, and their communication is severed. Have you gotten rid of the ship!?"

The thunderous voice resonated from the other side of the room, where a woman could be seen grabbing onto the handles.

"The others have all been killed. I'm calling for permission to abort mission and return, boss," she said, though the ship had already turned back, speeding away with force.

"The fuck you mean they're dead? Abort mission? Fuck no!?"

"Kira, those jets are 26 million NV dollars each! What do you mean five of you can't take down some fucking helicopter!?"

"We were wrong, boss. It's no helicopter!" Kira said, and fear lit her eyes when the entire light in the room turned red.

She instantly turned to the dashboard, finding the lock-in of a projectile that was like a straight line, and she turned her gaze outside, just to find the nose of the speeding bomb.

The sight of it made her frozen so much she couldn't even move the controller downward, and in the next, her last words were—

"It's a War Helijet!"

KAAAAAABBBBOOOOOOOM!

Everlearn blinked twice, watching as the last red dot on the radar disappeared, leaving just them—the green light.

Dumbledor's tapping speed reduced as he tapped on a button, and Everlearn felt himself waved away from behind to sit closer to the dashboard at the side, just where he had been before.

The same occurred for Dumbledor, who was also moved away from the center to the side.

Another button, and half of the ship's button caps closed back and disappeared into the dashboard before the helicopter's speed was reduced.

He slowly turned to Everlearn and then said—

"So, as we were saying. Back in the base, Boss Ash is the one…"
