Evangeline couldn't stop what happened after that. With unsettling ease, Hades broke into the crimson house, creating a hole large enough to reach through before calmly opening the door from the inside. He pushed it open with such practiced speed that she immediately knew this wasn't his first time forcing his way into a home, or perhaps not even the first time he had broken this particular door.
"Um," she called out hesitantly, her steps faltering, "I don't think we should enter—"
She didn't get to finish. In the very next second, Hades kicked the door fully open and marched inside without a shred of hesitation.
She lingered only for a moment before the sound of something, or someone, crashing violently echoed from within. Panic prickled at her skin, and she rushed in after him, only to freeze at the sight before her.
