Adalyn didn't have to question who would be inside her carriage. She had always known that there would be one person who would appear and disappear as they liked alongside this cloaked figure. She hesitated to step forward, despite the fact that she's not this person's enemy, rather their subordinate, an ally.
Not only an ally but her leader.

Adalyn's entire body twitched and slowly she turned backward to find Serena. The girl had rushed towards her with hopeful wide eyes and a glimmering smile. Unlike Evangeline, the girl was always more clever in pretending to be meek and act according to other people's taste so she would be liked by them.
While that flattered Adalyn's ego, it didn't really work for her who had always been able to seek through someone's lies and pretentious act.
