In the next two hours, Amon could't stop himself from smiling as the frequency of his level ups got faster.

Amon had already reached F rank and the message in front of him had also appeared more than an hour ago.
Yet, he didn't rank up due to one simple reason.
The cockroaches were all FFF ranks. If he levelled up to E, then he would only receive 50% of the exp. It was better to lose 10% instead of 50%.
"How many levels did you guys get?" he asked as he continued looking at the screen. The notifications had stopped appearing a few minutes ago.
Mike looked up from his screen in a daze as he replied, "I've gone up to level 10 of F rank…"
"I only got four levels." Nyx said with a smile. As someone who had been stuck in E rank for months, getting four levels in two hours was an amazing feeling.
She tilted her head slightly as she looked at him and asked, "What about you? If Mike maxed his levels, you should have ranked up to E at least."
Amon nodded but didn't tell her that he was still stuck in F rank. Other awakened didn't have the luxury of stopping their ranks from going up.
'Let's see…' Amon thought as he used 1000 exp to rank up to E and the rest of the exp he had hoarded was used up instantly.

F, FF and FFF ranks had a maximum of 10 levels with the levels resetting to 1 everytime one ranked up. As for E and E+ ranks, each had 20 levels.
Unfortunately, everyone's stats were automatically allocated. They weren't as privileged as Amon.
'I used almost sixty stream points… the returns are amazing.' he exclaimed inwardly as he looked at the remaining experience he'd need to rank up to D.
"The only one who's stuck at F is Mike." he said as he looked at the person in question, "You just need a bit more experience to rank up, right?"
Mike nodded expectantly while Amon looked up at the sky. The number of stars had increased to nineteen.
He then grabbed the black book from the top of his head and saw words written in bright red ink.

Amon silently read through the first three pages as those were the only ones available to him. The rest were pitch black.
"Mutations…" he muttered and chuckled, 'Isn't it perfect? With my system, I can pick a good mutation like the humanoid spider and not have to worry about becoming an actual monster.'
"Alright, put on the gas masks. We're going into the hole." he said as he began walking towards the blocked off place.
Once they arrived at their destination, Amon touched the invisible barrier. It dispersed without any problem.
The trio took a deep breath and were about to jump in when a huge cockroach jumped out and landed on the ground. It had huge translucent wings under it's brown top wing that looked more like iron armor.
It's brown skin' had a metallic sheen but there was a white liquid dripping from the corners of it's weird looking mouth.
It looked different from the other giant cockroaches. It was smaller but slightly bulkier and also had wings unlike the one's Amon had seen before.
"E ranked Iron Skin Roach." he said as he took a step back, "Immense vitality but trash in everything else. It's defence is okay… no wonder it survived. We should have waited a bit more."
Nyx and Mike didn't listen after the E ranked part. They were already running away and by the time Amon noticed it, the cockroach was already in front of him.
"…. for fucks sake." he cursed as he took a few steps backwards as he waved at the monster, "Yo roachy, how you doing? I know I've stomped on a lot of your ancestors but I hope you can forgive me. My slipper game is way too strong, I couldn't help it."
'Damn talk no jutsu isn't working!' he yelled inwardly as the roach opened it's mouth and exposed it's mandibles.
'Shop!!'
Not even a moment had passed when multiple jerrycans of gasoline appeared along with molotovs that were already lit.
Using his spider silk, Amon tossed all of them into the open mouth of the cockroach that was getting closer while opening lids of the cans at the same time.
The jerricans went in first and then, the molotovs. Some of them crashed into each other and spilled all the contents into the mouth that now had gasoline in it.
Flames spread almost instantly, making the roach jump up and down before taking flight as if hoping to put it off my flying at high speeds.
Amon wiped off the beads of sweat on his forehead while he watched the cockroach suffer for a few minutes before falling down straight.
As soon as the cockroach hit the ground, he got a notification.

Amon thought for a few seconds before he ran towards the E ranked cockroach. Nyx and Mike were already beside it and when Amon reached them, he could see the look of guilt in their eyes.
He didn't really mind their actions. Having them far away was a good thing as he could hog all the experience for himself.
'Well, I am a little disappointed.' he thought as he looked at Nyx who had extracted the core.
