Chapter 6 - little girl

Because in the normal world, this was a particularly stupid thing to do.

Of course, for him, a mature soul, suppressing resistance was a piece of cake. However, for safety's sake, he pushed the cart to the wall and even touched it deliberately.

The touch was real, his hand could fully feel the roughness of the bricks.

"Can I go through this?"

After touching the wall, Ray expressed serious doubts about whether he could pass through it.

Magic, a lot of the time, just didn't make sense. So, no matter how doubtful he was, sometimes he could only suppress his instincts and face the difficulties head-on.

Ray took a deep breath, pushed the cart back a distance, and then charged towards the wall.

Finally, with Ray's firm belief that he would pass through the wall, he pushed the cart and finally crashed solidly into it.

With a loud bang, it wasn't just the trolley and the luggage on top that were overturned, but also Ray himself.

The trolley slammed into the wall and came to an abrupt halt, launching his small body into the air. He flipped over the trolley and scraped against the wall before crashing to the ground.

At the critical moment, his elbow protected his head. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been his elbow that was bleeding, but his forehead.

"Damn it!"

Ray waited for a moment before getting up. He examined his scraped and bleeding elbow, letting out a curse he'd used in his previous life.

"Are you alright, child?"

A chubby train attendant in a work uniform was drawn over by the sound of the impact, looking at Ray with surprise as he got to his feet.

"I'm fine, sir. It's just that I couldn't quite control my trolley."

Ray found a familiar excuse to cover himself. What else could he do? Tell the other person that he was going to walk through the wall, only to end up slamming right into it like an idiot.

"Where's your platform? Do you need me to help you with your luggage?"

The plump conductor looked at the disheveled Ray. Out of kindness, he wanted to help this child who couldn't even control a trolley.

"Um, thank you, sir. I think the ground was a bit slippery just now, so that's why... I think I can manage, sir."

Declining the conductor's offer, Ray began to gather up his luggage that had fallen to the ground.

"Alright, child. If you need any help, you can find someone wearing the same uniform as me."

The conductor looked at Ray again and again, who kept saying he was fine, and then left with a puzzled expression. He hadn't seen anyone there just now. After hearing the sound of the wall collision, he walked over and saw Ray just standing up in the corner.

Ray's right elbow felt a burning pain, as if constantly reminding him that he had just been stupid enough to run into the wall himself.

After packing his luggage, Ray gave a helpless, bitter smile. This should be the station, but why was he bumping into a wall instead of passing through it?

Could it be that, just like in Harry Potter, Dobby had cast a spell here?

He was just a freshman; who would want to make things difficult for him? Or rather, did he even have the right to be targeted?

Shaking his head, Ray discarded the thought and returned to the main issue. A little analysis made it clear that he, being a bit of an idiot, had definitely gone to the wrong place.

Time was running out. If he missed this train, Ray would have to wait until next year to get to Hogwarts.

However, just when he was eager to find the platform, he unexpectedly heard a pleasant voice.

"Mommy, why is he being so silly, bumping into the wall?"

A well-dressed mother and daughter appeared opposite the pillar. The girl asked the middle-aged woman standing beside her in a questioning tone.

She wasn't very old, about the same age as Ray. She was probably also a freshman at Hogwarts, as she had a beautiful owl on her small cart.

She was very beautiful, with prominent brow bones, deep-set eye sockets, and thick, long eyelashes above her lively eyes. A high bridge on her nose gave her features a three-dimensional look.

Her face was narrow, with a full forehead and a tight jawline. Her lips were well-defined, with clear lip peaks and a slight upturn at the corners of her mouth.

Such a beautiful little girl was now looking at Ray, who had just finished packing his luggage, with a look of disdain. Obviously, the scene of Ray running into the wall had completely caught her eye.

"Agnes, people who run into walls are usually Muggle-born wizards because it's their first time going to Hogwarts," the middle-aged woman said to her daughter, after glancing at Ray with disapproval.

Ray didn't need to think to know who the woman was talking about when she mentioned Muggle-born wizards.

The pretty girl smiled at Ray, but it was a smile filled with arrogance.

The mother and daughter walked to the other side of the pillar that Ray had run into. The little girl looked down at Ray and said, "Hey, you silly boy. Watch carefully, this is the correct entrance."

As soon as she finished speaking, the little girl with golden hair pushed her trolley and ran into the pillar beside Ray.

The little girl vanished, entering the pillar. Her mother had also left.

"Damn it!"

Ray swore again, exasperated. It turned out he'd found the right spot, but the entrance was just on the other side of the wall, on the other side of the pillar.

That bump earlier was truly for nothing. He was an idiot, being called a fool by an eleven-year-old girl; he deserved it.

Ray could tell you what it felt like to pass through a wall: absolutely nothing.

Suppressing his fear of being hit, and then a flash of black and then light, Ray arrived at Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, on his way to Hogwarts.

It was bustling with parents seeing their children off; a truly lively scene.

The train steamed, its whistle blowing for the first time. A kind train attendant used the Levitation Charm to lift Ray's luggage onto the train.

Walking through the vintage train carriages, Ray felt like he was on a trip. It was relaxing and comfortable. The only downside was that almost all the carriages were filled with students.

"Oh, I'm so sorry! I'll go look for another seat right away."

In front of Ray, the sliding door on the right suddenly opened. A young boy stood outside, flustered, and quickly bowed inside in apology. Then, he respectfully closed the door and left.

"What's going on?"

Curious, Ray walked over and looked into the compartment.

A small compartment could seat four people, but it was clearly only occupied by one. A girl with long golden hair, engrossed in a book, was sitting there.

For whatever reason, only a fool wouldn't sit in an empty compartment like this.

Ray slid open the door and entered the compartment.

"Excuse me. Is it alright if I sit here?"

Ray spoke politely, but before the little girl could answer, he began stowing his luggage under the seat. After all, in his past life, when rushing for trains, no one was ever this courteous, especially since the compartment wasn't reserved by the little girl.

"Did I say you could sit here?"

The girl was a bit displeased, but her voice was quite pleasant.

"Oh, sorry. There really isn't any other space. Thanks!" After putting his luggage away, Ray stood up and apologized.

However, when he faced the girl, his face showed some surprise. Because this girl was the one outside the station who had laughed at him and called him a silly goose.

"Hello, I'm Ray Fasti. It's an honor to sit with you."

With a standard posture and tone, Ray, with a smile on his face, suddenly changed. He performed impeccable noble etiquette in front of the little girl.

Ray recalled the scene outside the station just now; the girl in front of him was definitely born into a pure-blood family, full of a sense of superiority. It was very likely that this little compartment was reserved by her.

In order to have a comfortable place for himself, Ray had to change his demeanor, instantly transforming into a standard aristocratic gentleman.

He had been educated in aristocratic etiquette for so many years by vampires. When Ray got serious, he wouldn't be worse than those pure-blood wizarding nobles.

The girl, who came from a prominent family, naturally responded to the textbook-like etiquette: "I'm Agnes Greengrass."

Ray's change in demeanor was too fast, which caught Agnes off guard.

Moreover, Ray believed that the other party was heading to Slytherin, so while saying that he was an orphan, he also expressed his longing for Slytherin.

Slytherin students were elegant in their behavior and dignified in their actions, all reflecting the noble style of the aristocracy. With a series of compliments, coupled with Ray's impeccable aristocratic demeanor, Agnes believed that Ray's parents were definitely pure-blood wizards.

Because apart from those pure-blood aristocratic wizarding families, they couldn't cultivate a child like Ray who possessed such aristocratic demeanor.

Ray was very talkative, especially in front of a girl who was only eleven years old, at least for someone with the soul of a mature person.

Agnes also yearned for Slytherin. This girl in front of him was another child misled by the family's pure-blood theory.

The pretty little girl was filled with disgust for Muggles. Ray sighed inwardly, This little one's thinking seems to have gone astray.

"Ray, you want to go to Slytherin too, right?" Agnes stared into Ray's eyes and asked very seriously.

"Slytherin is the academy for the excellent children of the nobility. If I can enter Slytherin, it would be my honor."

Ray's answer was impeccable. He hadn't said he was pure-blood; that was just what the little girl assumed. He also hadn't said he wanted to go to Slytherin, which Agnes had also assumed.

He had no intention of deceiving the little girl in front of him.

But in his heart, he felt a sense of guilt, like he was a perverted uncle. It was as if he was now just a strange uncle trying to trick a little girl into looking at goldfish.

And, this little girl completely didn't realize she'd been tricked. The interesting topic had already made her forget about chasing away Ray, the weird uncle.
