Chapter 3 - The Grind Begins

3rd Day

I woke up before dawn. The sun hadn't even risen yet.

Time for stretching.Twenty minutes later, my muscles felt warm, so I jumped straight into my workout.

Strange... I feel stronger. Way stronger than I ever was in my previous world. It's like something inside me is overflowing — maybe magic.

Or maybe this world's gravity is just different. Who knows.

Alright. Time for some TESTING.

Screen.

A golden panel appeared, glowing in front of me, showing my stats.Okay... if this works like the games I've played, then there should also be...

INVENTORY.

Another screen appeared, empty slots shining.WAIT.It actually worked! Just as I thought — this really is like a game... or a system.

Let's test it.I grabbed the sword I bought yesterday and placed it into the inventory. It vanished, and suddenly a sword icon appeared in a slot.

Only five slots, though. I remember games giving way more... WAIT — maybe if I level up, I'll unlock more?!Oh my god, this is exciting.

"i kinda get the feeling Vino had yesterday when we got that task.."

Now there's Screen, Inventory... what about Quests?

Another screen appeared, this one glowing red.

ACCESS DENIED: YOUR LEVEL IS TOO LOW.

Figures.

Back to the screen.Level 1.

So... no matter how much I work out, I can't raise it? Damn.

Fine. Time to hunt.I strapped on my armor, pulled my cloak over my shoulders, and marched toward the forest.

The forest was too quiet. The kind of silence that makes your skin crawl.

Alright, let's do it Vino's way.Inventory.I reached in and pulled out my sword. Then, I cut my palm — just enough to bleed.

They'll come for me any second now—

A goblin leapt from the shadows, claws sinking into my back.

ARGHHHHHH! SHIT—THIS HURTS! YOU—

I dropped my sword, grabbed the creature with my bare hands, and ripped it off me.

COME HERE!

I slammed it onto the dirt, my rage boiling over.

PUNCH. PUNCH. PUNCH.Its skull smashed against the ground, blood spraying with every hit.

I reached for my sword.

HERE I GOOOO!

The blade drove straight through its head.

I staggered back, gasping for air.Hahh... hahhh... this is exhausting.

But I wasn't done. I split its chest open and pulled out a crystal. Even without a quest, I can probably sell these.

Inventory. The crystal disappeared into my slots.

INVENTORY: 1 Crystal.

Let's check the screen.

LEVEL UP.YOUR LEVEL IS NOW 2.CONGRATULATIONS.

Perfect. Now... time to kill more.

For the next five hours straight, all I did was hunt goblins.Kill. Kill. Kill.

Each fight got easier. Each goblin weaker in my hands.

-----

---

INVENTORY: 23 Crystals.

Good enough.

Screen.

CONGRATULATIONS.YOUR LEVEL IS NOW 5.

Though... something's off. At first, the levels came fast. But the higher I got, the slower it became.I'll need bigger monsters if I want real progress.

Stats:

FAST LEARNER – LEVEL: 5STRENGTH: 2400STAMINA: 2700MIND: 1300

Finally. I'm done. I'm so tired I could collapse here.

I headed back, soaked myself in a hot bath, and passed out the moment I touched the bed.It was the middle of the day, but I didn't care.I slept like a king.
