"And that is exactly why I cannot work in your company," Fred said, releasing a long, exhausted sigh. He rubbed the back of his neck as if trying to knead out stress that had been there for years. "Anyway, I'll have to leave now. The supermarket needs me."
"It's fine," Gabe replied, wearing a warm yet cunning smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. "I'll just stay here and wait for Sabe to wake up."
"Just be careful," Fred warned, his brows knitting together. "He might be a little aggressive when he wakes up." He pointed toward the side table where an injection had been placed earlier. "If he becomes too much to handle, you can sedate him with this."
