"I saw Master Diluc fight in that cutscene before, but I never thought we could actually get him!"
"And the Acting Grand Master, too! They're both 5-star characters! Their damage must be insane!"
"I don't care about the damage! I'd pull for the Acting Grand Master even if her skill healed the enemies!"
"I can't wait to see what Master Diluc's Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst are like!"
"Master Diluc has a Pyro Vision and uses a claymore! His fighting style must be awesome!"
The crowd discussed excitedly, the atmosphere in the hall feeling almost like a festival.
After their initial excitement settled, they grew eager to try their luck in the Wish system, hoping to get the characters they wanted.
However, most people were still stuck on the quest to clear the Temples of the Four Winds. They were nowhere near as skilled at the game as Lisa, so they only had enough for one or two wishes. The player with the most progress had enough for about three.
They began to use their Acquaint Fates to make wishes, one after another.
Whoosh…
As streaks of blue light flashed across their screens, they pulled all sorts of three-star weapons.
"A three-star weapon, Debate Club…"
"A three-star catalyst, Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers! The name alone sounds powerful!"
"Black Tassel… this is a polearm. Are there even any polearm characters yet?"
"A three-star bow, Slingshot! Haha, I can finally get my Amber a new, powerful weapon!"
Amber, who was sitting nearby, was speechless. There was something awkward about the way he said that.
Although everyone was only getting three-star weapons, they were still quite happy. As long as it was an upgrade for their current characters, they didn't feel like it was a loss.
In their eyes, three-star weapons were already quite formidable.
After all, such items could normally only be found in precious chests, and even then, only by chance.
Amber had enough for two wishes on her account. Seeing others obtain powerful new weapons made her feel envious.
Without hesitation, she tapped the screen.
Whoosh…
The first was, unsurprisingly, a streak of blue light.
"A three-star bow, Raven Bow."
Amber took a look. The design was nice, and it seemed like a strong bow.
Equipping it should give her a decent boost in combat power.
Amber began her second wish.
Her mouth fell slightly agape.
"Purple light…"
"This is… the wolf boy… Razor?"
The player next to her noticed her staring blankly at the screen and leaned over for a look, his eyes widening in shock.
"Amber pulled a new four-star character!"
The news immediately sent another shockwave through the hall.
Everyone crowded around Amber to get a look at this new character.
Amber went to the party setup screen and swapped out Kaeya for the newly acquired Razor.
It was a commonly accepted fact that Kaeya's damage was pitiful; most people just used him for "ice bridging" across water or activating Cryo elemental monuments.
Now, the screen displayed Razor's character interface.
The crowd surrounding Amber buzzed with discussion about the new character.
"His name is Razor, right? I don't think I've ever seen him in Mondstadt…"
"He uses a claymore. Is he the first claymore character in the entire game?"
"Amber's luck is way too good!"
"Amber, hurry! Go find a Hilichurl camp and test out Razor's Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst!"
Amber, now the center of attention, was just as eager to see what this new character was capable of.
Arriving at a Hilichurl camp, she first tried Razor's normal attacks.
Wielding the heavy claymore with both hands, every swing felt powerful.
The damage was high, but the attack speed was a little slow.
Tapping his Elemental Skill, a phantom wolf claw lashed out, instantly killing a Hilichurl in front of him.
When holding the Elemental Skill, Razor gathered Electro energy. The sky around him darkened before he slammed his claw into the ground, creating a small thunderstorm.
"So cool!"
"Doesn't that Elemental Skill look a bit like Lisa's?"
"Try the Elemental Burst! Quick!"
Finally, his energy was full. Amber immediately tapped the wolf-head icon.
"AWOOO—!!!"
With a furious howl, the phantom of a great purple wolf materialized above Razor. His attack patterns changed, with each strike now coordinated with the wolf spirit overhead, tearing apart all enemies before him with sharp claws.
"Whoa…"
"That's so strong!"
"Every hit feels so impactful! This attack style is amazing!"
"And Razor is only level 1! His damage is already this crazy."
"As expected of a character you can only get from a Wish! He's really powerful!"
"Aaaah, I want a Razor too!"
After watching for a while, the crowd dispersed and returned to their seats, motivated to grind out more in-game quests, save up more Primogems, and hope their next wish would be the lucky one.
---o---
Not long after, Lisa returned from her lunch.
As soon as she entered, she heard that Amber had pulled a new character, a wolf boy named Razor.
"Interesting. To think that even Razor is a playable character in this game," Lisa remarked thoughtfully.
"Huh? Lisa, you know Razor?"
Amber was surprised. She had assumed Razor was a fictional character, since no one else here had ever seen him before.
"Not only do I know him, he's also my 'student'."
"Ehh…?"
Amber was even more shocked now.
Just a moment ago, when she was testing his skills, someone had commented that Razor's Elemental Skill looked similar to Lisa's. She never imagined there was a real connection between them.
Amber wanted to ask Lisa more about the wolf boy, but seeing the pensive look on Lisa's face, she decided against it.
It was a well-known consensus among the Knights of Favonius: never disturb Lisa when she is deep in thought.
