Eden
Eden is a Category 5 region for spawned beasts, with a large size occupying twice the area of Eden City. It ranks among the top 10 regions in the world. Spawned Beasts of up to the Gold rank could be found within its confines.
Wild Spawned Beasts were almost similar to humans since they could cultivate and level up. The difference was the mode of levelling, which was extracting blood values from other people or beasts.
The blood values extracted contained Mana which is then used to strengthen them. Continuous consumption of blood values increases the strength and power of the beasts.
Constantly, beasts fight against themselves for survival, dominance or territory. Over time, this has caused them to evolve and now have skins as hard as steel, making it very hard for humans to take them on easily.
The sun now stood in the middle of the sky signalling it was already afternoon. The crowd from the training ground now gathered in front of Eden.
Prior to the entrance competition the area to be used for the competition had been worked on. To guarantee the safety of the Gillette Household junior members for the competition, senior members had entered Eden already to begin clearing away the higher-level spawned beasts covering an area as wide as 100km within the month. This process was to make sure that no overpowered or high-level spawned beast was within the location for the competition.
All members who were taking part in the competition were already above level 8, bronze rank, so facing any level 9 spawned beast. It was a simple task for anyone. The senior members clearing Eden still didn't guarantee that there wouldn't be any unforeseen incidents.
"And the competition has begun!" Old Cain roared. "You can also end the competition anytime during the three-day schedule. Killing a beast qualifies you to become a member of the academy. Returning without any kill results in a disqualification; also, not returning after the end of the competition to the submission point leads to a disqualification. Three days, that is how long the competition has been going on for. Are we clear?
"Yes sir!" The crowd roared back at Old Cain.
"Begin!" He said.
Maxwell had been staring into the dark Eden as he waited patiently for Old Cain to finish. Now that he was done, he just muttered to himself. "Let the game begin."
He and Constantine entered Eden.
---
Somewhere in Eden.
"How is that possible?" Gregory shouted. "Just one person and you lose it, what use do I have for you?" His face showed anger.
The crowd that had journeyed into Eden at once had given Gregory and his team little time as he had lost sight of Gwendolyn. This was his reason for getting angry.
"And Maxwell, where is that bastard?" He asked.
"We saw him leave in the direction of the peak."
"I guess we'll be playing my game then." Gregory grinned as he looked in the direction of the peak. "Both of you, I want you to continue monitoring Maxwell and the others, and go search for Gwendolyn immediately."
"At your service." They all chorused before leaving in different directions.
Another location inside Eden.
Maxwell and Constantine were running quickly towards the peak of Eden. On their way, they had encountered many bronze rank beasts but ignored them totally.
After some time, they had made it deep into Eden, and they were sure that none of the Gillette Household members were with them.
Constantine crashed down on a rock as he gasped for breath while asking. "Why did we run away this far, Sir Maxwell?"
Maxwell was still looking around consciously before responding. "The acting Lord and Fargo would most likely not make peace with us and most likely would try to do something to us in here. This competition is the perfect excuse to get rid of me and they would most certainly use it. Which is why we have to get somewhere safe from the others." Maxwell was well calculated as he was considering every angle.
Eden was already crawling with beasts and he had his system available. He only needed to hunt now and level up to level 3, bronze rank. There would be nobody to challenge him if he could make it. This was his big opportunity.
Just then, Maxwell was alerted as he signalled Constantine quietly. "Someone is coming."
"Zap!"
A bright colored figure moved through the trees quickly. The dress, dancing behind with her long hair, as her body moved forward. It was a beautiful scene for Maxwell and Constantine.
"Sir Maxwell, look. It's an angel." Constantine said, pointing to the figure. He was in complete surprise.
Maxwell was also surprised but then he remembered the girl he met when he went to the fields to get food for the horses.
Gwendolyn heard the voice of Constantine as she looked down. She saw Maxwell as she became overjoyed to say something before...
"Watch out!" Maxwell yelled.
The speed she was moving at was very fast, and she didn't hear Maxwell clearly, she asked. "You're saying?"
"In front of you, look ahead!" Maxwell said, pointing out an obstacle in front of her.
"In front?" Gwendolyn muttered to herself. She raised her head immediately to look up before noticing a tall tree, towering over two meters standing in front of her. She panicked immediately, causing her Mana flow to disrupt. Without her consuming Mana, she lost all abilities and could no longer stay in the air as she began falling.
"Shit! It's happening again." Maxwell remembered his first encounter with her at the field as he mumbled silently. "Does it have to happen again? I don't really think I need help, or do I?" He didn't want her to badmouth him again. He quickly decided to remain at his position as he watched her free-fall.
"Help, somebody help me!" Gwendolyn screamed out. She remembered the last time they had met and when she crashed into him. Her cheeks flushed red but she quickly regained composure. "Whenever I panic, this angel wings technique seems to go on a power outage. Maxwell!"
"Did she just call out my name?" Maxwell soliloquies. "Why does the voice sound so familiar?" Seeing her fall created a ripple effect on Maxwell as he shot quickly to catch her.
"Why is it feeling different? So soft that I could squeeze harder. What am I holding onto?" As he asked himself these questions, he squeezed softly as his hands felt comfortable. He could feel a ball-like protrusion on one side. "Did I..." Maxwell looked as he discovered one of his hands was directly on Gwendolyn's chest. Maxwell swallowed hard as he felt an adrenaline rush in his body.
This was the closest he had ever been to a female. In his past life, he didn't have the luxury and was pretty much scared to chase after any girl.
He could only tell you what a girl looked like by the way they dressed, and now, here he was with a beauty that had other guys rolling on the floor for her, and his hand was on her chest. The feeling was out of this world for him.
Gwendolyn's cheeks flushed red as she blushed hard. The smile on her face was undeniable, yet she started. "What's that smell? Maxwell!" She said as she began to struggle.
Maxwell's sense of reasoning came back as he tried to kill his evil thoughts. Gwendolyn's struggle causes him to let go of her. Immediately he felt like a piece of him was let go as he stretched out his hand.
They both came crashing down with Gwendolyn landing on top of Maxwell. Maxwell didn't have time to react when his lips came in contact with another as a tongue slipped in. The taste was sweet as it came in hot, plus the soft mounds of chest that were pressing against him.
"What a beautiful sight Sir Maxwell!" Constantine, who had been looking at the drama unfold, said I'm a childish way.
