Chapter 5 - Amazing Skills

Chapter 5: Amazing Skills

It was an ordinary box; I didn't think of it as something special compared to the other boxes. Even its shape was dull, lacking any element that drew attention, much like the rest of the boxes scattered around me.

I held it in my hands and began turning it over, scrutinizing it. And suddenly, I spotted some writing on the bottom side.

It was familiar writing... Arabic! Yes, the Arabic language. You might think I'm Arab, but let me disappoint you: I'm not. I only studied Arabic in university... well, that's not our topic now.

The writing was as follows:

[Coordinates: Blue Planet

Continent: Asia

City: Seoul

Gate: 01

District: Residential Area

Identifier: 0000001]

I laughed at first; it looked like a shipping label or a postal address. But something made me return to seriousness again.

I oriented the box towards the opening side, where there was an elegant silver knot closing it tightly. I took a deep breath, then pulled the string, filled with excitement and anticipation.

And as soon as I opened it, a bright, warm golden light emanated from it, as if welcoming me as its new owner. I closed my eyes from the intensity of its glare, then heard a familiar sound ringing in my ear:

[Ding! You have obtained: "Third Eye"]

"..."

I slowly opened my eyes, searching for the source of the sound, only to be surprised by a transparent blue screen suspended in the air, with glowing golden words formed on it:

[Third Eye]

It was a skill I had always dreamed of possessing, wished for from the depths of my heart since I woke up in this strange world, and never imagined I would obtain. But now it was before me... it had become mine.

I contemplated the words for a few moments, then tapped on them to see the full description. The screen immediately expanded to reveal the skill details:

[Third Eye]

{A quick glance at the unknown facts before you, from whomever they may be, reveals their secrets before your eyes...}

{The Third Eye is the eye of the "World Observer," enabling the user to spy on the traits, statistics, abilities, or talents... of those around them.}

"..."

This... resembles video games more than I imagined. Still, from a realistic perspective, this ability is extremely useful. It might be the key to avoiding problems before they happen.

A crazy idea occurred to me: what if I used it on myself?

I tapped on the screen again, and the following appeared:

[Strength]: Wall Level

[Speed]: 30

[Flexibility]: 25

[Talents]: Language Learning

[Traits]: Nothing

"..."

The evaluation was ordinary, reflecting the state of a simple teenager. But one thing confused me: "Wall Level." What does this mean? Is it my maximum physical energy? Can I destroy a wall with one punch? I don't know... and there weren't any buildings to try it on.

I took a deep breath and decided to postpone this question for later.

Then, I turned to the rest of the boxes. If my expectation was correct, all these boxes contained exciting skills... like "Third Eye." And although they weren't offensive, they were considered powerful support abilities.

I jumped towards the other boxes like a child who found a treasure and started opening them one after another, embracing them as if hugging a long-awaited dream. And like the first box, as soon as I pulled the silver string, stunning lights exploded from within.

But this time, the colors were more strange: a mysterious purple glow, a dangerous bloody red, a pure white radiating purity, and a pitch black emanating a feeling of despair and death.

I shuddered. The scene was shocking, majestic, as if I were summoning forces that didn't belong to this world.

Then I heard that sound again:

[Ding! You have obtained: "Strength"]

[Ding! You have obtained: "Swift as Light"]

[Ding! You have obtained: "Healing"]

[Ding! You have obtained: "Summon Skeleton"]

I stood there, speechless, staring at the screens as if I couldn't believe it. Each skill carried a world of possibilities. I had opened the first four boxes, and with each box, my life was changing.

I kept staring at the colorful words before me, then pressed on one of them:

[Strength] [Purple Skill]

{When using the skill "Strength," the user's physical damage is tripled.}

The skill description was simple, something even a ten-year-old child could understand.

According to this explanation, my maximum destructive power might be equivalent to three adjacent concrete walls.

This might seem trivial when you read it, but imagine receiving a punch equal to the weight of three concrete walls... your face would turn into paste immediately!

I stopped my imaginings, then looked at the rest of the colored titles and pressed them all at the same time.

A set of windows appeared before me, each in a different color: Red, White, and Pitch Black. And each window carried a unique description:

[Swift as Light] [Red Skill]

{When activating the skill, the user's speed is doubled to 200% of their original speed.}

[Healing] [White Skill: Holy Category]

{When using the skill, the user is covered in a holy layer of golden light that heals all physical damage.}

[Summon Skeleton] [Black Skill: Death Category]

{When activating the skill, the user summons a skeleton from the underworld.

Current Skeleton Level: 1.}

"..."

Fall!

I was stunned for a moment by these amazing skills, especially since among them were two skills from special categories, but what shocked me more was the black skill... classified under the Death category.

"Summon Skeleton"...

A skill I had read about so often in web novels, where the sorcerer summons legions of skeletons, of all shapes and types.

This skill perfectly matched those possessed by necromancers in those stories: starting at level one, allowing the summoning of one or two skeletons, with the possibility of evolving later.
