"Theoretically… entirely feasible!" Leah nodded firmly, her eyes flashing rapidly with data, clearly comparing the newly acquired data with the previously recorded energy signature of the "Pandora's Stone."
"Look here," she projected some data onto the main screen—complex waveforms and mathematical formulas—"This model has a very unique way of analyzing energy fields. It doesn't care about the source or nature of the energy, only its 'fingerprint'—that is, its unique frequency and fluctuation pattern. The energy signature we recorded before, although chaotic, wasn't entirely without pattern. If we can use this model to analyze its core resonant frequency…"
"We can create a weapon, or a device, to neutralize it!" Kane finished her sentence, his voice filled with barely suppressed excitement. This was far more precise and efficient than a direct confrontation with explosions or stellar storms!
"Who developed this theory?" Kane pressed. This was definitely not something that rough-around-the-edges warrior like Rex could have come up with.
Leah quickly searched the metadata in the data packet. "The developer's digital signature is... a codename: '**Echo**. No other identification information. The last modification time of the data packet... is 4230 in the Standard Calendar."
4230? That's five years ago. Long before the "Lonely End" incident and the "Pandora" mission.
A mysterious figure codenamed "Echo" developed this theory, possibly specifically designed to combat some kind of anomalous energy field, five years ago? Is this merely a coincidence, or...?
Kane's thoughts raced. Why did Rex have this? Did he obtain it by chance, or did he intentionally collect it? Did he know its value? Did he consider using it at the last minute?
Countless questions flooded his mind.
"Leah, is this theory... possible to realize with our ship's current state? Even a small, experimental device?"
Leah remained silent for a moment, her eyes calculating frantically. "…Very difficult. It requires sophisticated energy focusers and frequency generators, most of which we lack. But…"
She paused, her gaze sweeping over the damaged but not completely unusable equipment on the bridge.
"…Perhaps we could modify our remaining **communication array secondary focusing modules**, and combine them with the navigation system's **high-precision timing crystals** as a frequency reference…we could try to build an **extremely rudimentary, one-time prototype**. But the power would be very low, the effective range might only be a few meters, and…the success rate couldn't be guaranteed."
A few meters, a one-time use opportunity. It still sounded hopeless.
But this was their only proactive, theoretically sound countermeasure! Compared to waiting to be killed, this was undoubtedly a ray of light piercing the darkness.
"Immediately begin analyzing feasibility and developing a modification plan," Kane ordered without hesitation. "We need to be prepared as much as possible."
"Understood!" Leah seemed much more invigorated, immediately throwing herself into her new work.
Kane looked at the empty black box, his heart filled with mixed emotions. Rex, you bastard... just how many secrets are you hiding? Was leaving this box an unintentional act, or some kind of divine arrangement?
