Chapter 123 - The Destruction of the Li Clan

"The Li Clan? Weren't they previously a subordinate branch of the Haotian Sect?" Qian Renxue asked, suspicion flickering in her eyes as she learned the full story. It seemed the Li Clan had ties to Tang Hao.

"This time, their plan was meticulous. They used Titan and Tailong as cannon fodder while Tang Hao tried to take me out. Fortunately, Xiaoxue and I performed the Soul Fusion Technique. I even severed Tang Hao's left leg in the process. This soul bone comes from him—one of the Haotian Sect's inherited soul bones," Zhou Sidong explained, holding up the precious bone.

"It truly is a treasure!" Qian Renxue's eyes sparkled. She turned to Zhu Zhuqing with a smile. "Zhuqing, you should absorb it—use this opportunity to break through to Spirit Power Level 50."

"No. I can't take it," Zhu Zhuqing said firmly. She had already gained so much from Zhou Sidong. Even though she was his future wife, she refused gifts beyond her due—self-restraint was necessary.

"Zhuqing, how about this: after we marry, for every child you bear, I'll give you a soul bone. You've already received two; this is the third…"

Hearing this, Zhu Zhuqing's face flushed crimson.

"You really treat her like a baby factory?" Qian Renxue smirked. She secretly hoped Zhuqing would have several children—after all, the Angel Clan had too few members. They needed heirs to carry on the Martial Soul Hall. Zhuqing had the means; her children would never go hungry.

As for Qian Renxue herself, marriage wasn't on her horizon. In her opinion, no man in this world was suitable.

"Just kidding—don't take it seriously," Zhou Sidong chuckled, and Zhuqing's face relaxed slightly.

They hadn't even married, and he was already discussing children. Zhuqing sighed silently. She wasn't a pig!

After dinner, the siblings sat in the courtyard under the full moon. Inside the hall, after Zhou Sidong and Qian Renxue's discussion, Zhu Zhuqing finally absorbed the soul bone, taking the opportunity to break through to Spirit Power Level 50.

"Have you decided how to handle Titan tomorrow?" Qian Renxue asked.

"The Li Clan… our number-one enemy in the future, and right now as well," Zhou Sidong replied.

The Li Clan had been a foundational force of the Tang Sect—one of Tang San's future bases when establishing the Tang Sect. Titan and Tailong's arrival alongside Tang Hao revealed that Titan had reconciled with Tang Hao. It was also clear Tang Hao intended to use the Li Clan to eliminate Zhou Sidong.

"Should I send someone to wipe out the Li Clan now?" Qian Renxue suggested. She was decisive and could not tolerate a threat to her brother.

"No. I'll handle it personally."

Zhou Sidong rose slowly. "Tang Hao is heavily injured. If my estimation is correct, he is currently recuperating in Yuexuan. The Li Clan resides in Tiandou City. I can eliminate them quietly, leaving no trace, and prevent future troubles."

A murderous intent flickered in Zhou Sidong's eyes. The Li Clan had pushed their luck too far. If he waited until Titan came knocking tomorrow, it would be unwise. Besides, Titan had vowed to kill him; in a world of survival of the fittest, Zhou Sidong had no choice but to strike the Li Clan first.

Without hesitation, Zhou Sidong departed under the cover of night, heading toward the Li Clan.

The Li Clan's estate, in the southern part of Tiandou City, was massive. Its walls rose over four meters, sturdy and imposing. Two stone gorillas flanked the entrance, and above the gate hung a single plaque inscribed with the character: "Li."

"The Li Clan… we're here."

Zhou Sidong arrived nearby, noting the four disciples guarding the entrance.

"Xiaoxue, freeze time," he commanded.

From his brow, Xiaoxue shot forth, raising her right hand. A golden light enveloped the four guards, suspending them motionless.

"Evil Tiger," Zhou Sidong called, and a black-robed, iron-faced middle-aged man appeared.

Evil Tiger, like the Sea Demon White Shark, could only function on land for two hours. Beyond that, it would perish.

"Here's one hour. Wipe out the Li Clan completely. Leave no trace. Save Titan for last," Zhou Sidong instructed.

"Yes."

In humanoid form, Evil Tiger had limited time, but it hesitated not. As the Sea Demon Tiger King, it had commanded terror across the oceans for a hundred thousand years, a force second only to the Deep Sea Demon Whale King, surpassing even the White Shark's group from Sea God Island.

A faint metallic scent of blood filled the air. The four guards were slain, their blood pooling on the ground.

Zhou Sidong looked up at the moon, bright and round, yet the courtyard below was drenched in crimson.

"Xiaoxue… am I doing the right thing?" he asked.

"There's no right or wrong," Xiaoxue replied from his shoulder. "This world is different. In your past life, conflict was nearly extinct. Here, on Douluo Continent during the Cold Weapon era, death was common. Soul Masters fought for soul bones daily. Destruction of a clan was routine. As Tang Hao said, this is a world of survival of the fittest. You must adapt, not expect the world to adapt to you. What you're doing now is trivial; you must get used to it. Tang San returned from Sea God Island and began slaughtering immediately. Anyone linked to the Martial Soul Hall was wiped out. That's the reality."

Tang San was a typical example.

The Li Clan had conspired with Tang Hao to kill him; Zhou Sidong would not wait idly.

Slaughter continued. The stench of blood grew stronger.

"I feel… I've changed," Zhou Sidong muttered, leaping into the Li Clan estate.

Inside, corpses littered the floor, blood flowing freely.

He walked coldly to the main hall, where two bodies lay at the entrance—Tailong and his father, defeated before even realizing what happened.

Zhou Sidong stepped over them and entered the hall.

"Done."

Evil Tiger, blood-soaked, saluted.

"Rest in the pocket dimension," Zhou Sidong nodded.

The grand hall was silent. Only Titan remained, sitting at the front, muttering nonsense. Zhou Sidong threw a stone at him; in an instant, Titan regained clarity.

"Tomorrow, I must kill Zhou Sidong to fulfill my master's expectations," Titan muttered, unaware of Zhou Sidong before him.

"Who do you intend to kill?" Zhou Sidong's voice rang out.

"Of course… Zhou Sidong," Titan replied instinctively. He froze when he saw him and tried to regain composure. "Who are you? Why are you in my clan? Who was on duty tonight? Where are the others?"

"Don't shout. They'll never hear you," Zhou Sidong said calmly.

"You… what did you say?" Titan trembled and looked outside.

The sight stunned him: his son and grandson lay dead, blood everywhere. The entire Li Clan was obliterated.

"You… you wiped out my entire clan! I… I will kill you today!"

Titan, a Soul Douluo, radiated power. Eight soul rings flared, shaking the hall.

"Give your life!" Titan roared. His seventh soul ring charged at Zhou Sidong.

Boom!

Titan's body was flung into the wall behind him.

Zhou Sidong, clad in golden armor and wielding the Angel Sword, strode forward.

"Title… Douluo!" Titan trembled. The Li Clan had never wronged a Title Douluo, yet now faced annihilation.

"I am Zhou Sidong," he said.

"What?!" Titan staggered.

"Without doubt," Zhou Sidong confirmed.

"Impossible! You're just a Soul Sect cultivator! How could you wield power comparable to a Title Douluo?" Titan struggled to rise, a blood hole piercing his chest.

"Titan, you and Tang Hao plotted to kill me—didn't you?" Zhou Sidong asked.

"Yes!" Titan admitted without hesitation, pointing furiously. "You injured the young master, nearly killing him! I promised my master I'd settle this debt!"

"So you conspired with Tang Hao this morning, using your son and grandson to attack me, letting Tang Hao seize the opportunity," Zhou Sidong added.

"Exactly! But my son and grandson failed. The plan was incomplete. That's my fault," Titan said painfully.

"Tang Hao matters more to you than your son and grandson?" Zhou Sidong asked.

"Of course! My master is supreme. My son and grandson serving him is their honor! Zhou Sidong! You destroyed my entire clan! Even if I must die, I'll take you with me!" Titan roared.

"Die with me? You mean yourself," Zhou Sidong said, raising his sword.

"A lifetime of being a pawn, unaware—Titan, you are pathetic," Zhou Sidong murmured.

The hall was lit like day by the blazing sword light. Titan froze, chills running down his spine.

"Why?" he whispered.

"You and Tang Hao plotted against me first. That Tang San coveted my celestial herbs. Father and son didn't care—they wanted their opponents dead. I merely returned the favor," Zhou Sidong said, extinguishing the hall's torches.

Immediately, the Li Clan was engulfed in flames.

Zhou Sidong sat on the roof. Two hours later, time returned to normal, but the fire still raged, lighting half of Tiandou City.

"Water! Hurry!"

People on the streets awakened to see the inferno. Many tried to help, but the fire was too vast.

By morning, the fire burned out. The Li Clan was reduced to ashes, everything destroyed.

Zhou Sidong had watched silently through the night, from the spark to the blaze, and finally the extinguished flames. In his heart, the fire had only just begun.

"One night gone, my sister must be worried," Zhou Sidong murmured, standing and heading to Qian Renxue's estate.

News of the Li Clan's annihilation spread rapidly, shocking the city.

First to react was Shrek Academy.

In a small cabin behind the academy, Yu Xiaogang sat in his wheelchair, flanked by Liu Erlong.

"The Li Clan… all gone? Flandre, is this news reliable?" Yu Xiaogang asked, gripping hope.

Flandre shook his head. "I've seen it. The vast Li Clan reduced to dust. Not a single survivor. Only Tailong… but he's already arranged for memorials. Still, this fire… it's unusual."

"So you think it was deliberate?" Yu Xiaogang asked sharply.

"I didn't say that… only suspect," Flandre replied cautiously.

"The Tiandou Royal Court has launched an investigation. If it's human action, no trace will be overlooked," Liu Erlong agreed.

"If it was deliberate, who could've done it?" Flandre asked.

"Zhou Sidong!" Yu Xiaogang said decisively.

"Impossible! What grievance could he have against the Li Clan?" Flandre shook his head, looking at the furious Yu Xiaogang.

"I have evidence!" Yu Xiaogang insisted. "Not long ago, Tang Hao came to me…"

"What?" Flandre and Liu Erlong were shocked.

"What did Haotian say?" Flandre pressed.

"Tang Hao said he planned to contact someone nearby to kill Zhou Sidong and avenge Xiao San!" Yu Xiaogang's eyes gleamed.

"And after that? Did he contact anyone?" Liu Erlong asked.

"No. He only assured me it would be flawless—Zhou Sidong must be executed!" Yu Xiaogang clenched his fists, elated.

"And the proof? How can you confirm it was Zhou Sidong?" Flandre asked.

"None yet. It's my conjecture," Yu Xiaogang admitted.

Flandre scoffed, exasperated. "Yu Xiaogang, you're too tense. Wait for the Empire's reply. Even I hate Zhou Sidong, but this is suspicious."

Yu Xiaogang had become hypersensitive. Once disgraced, dismissed by the Blue Electric Tyrannosaurus, ridiculed in Tiandou City—his lifelong shame.

At Level 29, he had remained stagnant for fifty years, a confirmed failure. Years of work on core competitiveness had been wasted. He blamed Zhou Sidong and Dugu Bo, vowing revenge through Tang Hao.

"Director! Ning of the Seven Treasures Glazed Sect is here with Bone Douluo for a visit!"

Suddenly, a student ran in, gasping.

"Rongrong's father?" Flandre smiled faintly.

"Show some respect. Go greet them; don't keep Ning waiting," Liu Erlong ordered.

"Understood!" Flandre waved impatiently.

Since they got together, Flandre often endured scolding. If he didn't obey Yu Xiaogang, Liu Erlong would intervene, just like before.
