Chapter 11 - choices

The human arrived at the beach house as the party reached its chaotic peak. He was dressed in a sharp suit that somehow felt both sophisticated and deeply unsettling. The lighting seemed to shadow his face just right, creating an aura of mystery. As he stepped through the door, the music continued to play, but somehow, every eye in the room turned to him.

The various antelopes—Gerenuk, Rhebok, Tessee, Impala, Springbok, Goat, Yak, Klipspringer, Saiga, Eland, Gazelle, Biera, Waterbuffalo, Horse, Wildebeest, and Cow—all lined up in an unconscious display. Some tried to look casual. Others posed. A few looked nervous.

"Oh my," the Goat whispered to the Yak. "This is it. The moment we've all been dreading."

The human surveyed the assembled crowd with an expression that was impossible to read. Then, with deliberate, theatrical slowness, he reached into a bag he carried. Time seemed to hang in the air as he pulled out... knives. Not just any knives. These were clearly professional, expensive, designed for precision work. The light caught their gleaming blades.

The Rhebok gulped audibly. "Oh no."

"Everyone stay calm," the Eland said, though her own hands were trembling as she adjusted her white bikini. "He's... he's probably just showing us his work tools. Right?"

But the tension was palpable. The human set his bag down and began walking slowly along the line, examining each animal with an intensity that made them feel like specimens under examination.

The Waterbuffalo puffed out her chest, trying to look confident. "Well? What are you waiting for? Just get it over with!"

The human stopped directly in front of her, his eyes traveling up and down her spotted frame. His lips quirked into what might have been a smile, or might have been something else entirely.

The human moved slowly down the line, his gaze sharp and calculating as he examined each animal. The atmosphere in the beach house had grown thick with anticipation and an uncomfortable awareness of what was to come.

Waterbuffalo

He circled the large, spotted creature, his eyes tracking the curves of her powerful frame contained barely by the red bikini. "The Waterbuffalo," he mused aloud, running a finger along her shoulder as if he could feel the muscles beneath. "Your build is quite impressive. So much substance here."

The Waterbuffalo felt her cheeks flush despite herself. She shifted her weight, the movement making her bikini ride up slightly. "I... I've always been a bit... solid," she admitted, her voice dropping to something more intimate.

"Exactly," the human said, his hand moving lower, though still keeping to what could technically be called 'safe' areas. "And this," he gestured to her flanks, "is where you're truly extraordinary. I could spend hours mapping these muscles."

The Waterbuffalo's breath hitched. Her tail flicked involuntarily.

Horse

The tall creature stood even taller, ears pricked forward as the human approached. Despite her best efforts to appear calm, she was hyperaware of his gaze. "My legs have always been my best feature," she said, trying for casual but ending up breathy.

"Mm," the human acknowledged, examining her hindquarters with professional interest. "The development here is exceptional. Years of use, I'd guess?" He reached out, fingers ghosting over the curve of her muscle, and the Horse trembled. "Tell me, do you find that you're... built for more than just running?"

The Horse's answer came out as a choked laugh. "I... I suppose I've always been good at... carrying things."

"Carrying things," the human repeated, his smile knowing. "And being carried, I imagine."

Goat

she bounced on her hooves, clearly trying to play it cool but failing. She'd been marked up by several of the other animals already, her body decorated with diagrams. "Well, you can see the reviews are excellent," she said, gesturing to her own body like it was a museum exhibit.

The human's grin widened. "I can see that. The shoulder development is remarkable for your size." He traced one of the diagrams on her shoulder with a finger. "Whoever did this clearly knows their anatomy. They've highlighted exactly what I would examine first."

The Goat's tongue darted out to wet her lips. "I'm... I'm very flexible," she offered, bending sideways to show off her range of motion.

"Flexibility combined with this kind of musculature," the human mused, his eyes darkening. "That's quite the combination."

Impala

The spotted creature stood with her back to him at first, clearly hoping he wouldn't notice her, but the human had other ideas. "Impala," he said, his voice dropping lower. "Turn around. I want to see your face when I talk to you."

She complied, and he could see the flush across her cheeks, the way her spots seemed to shimmer with perspiration. "Yes, sir," she managed.

"The loin area," he said, pointing at the markings there. "Someone's already identified your best feature. Don't look so shy now."

"I'm not—" she started, but her voice died as he gestured directly at her lower back.

The Rhebok stood with her arms crossed, trying to maintain some dignity despite the diagrams on her shoulder hump. "Well?" she finally said, stepping forward. "Are you going to stare, or are you going to do something about it?"

The human's smile was slow and predatory. "Patience," he said. "I'm just finishing my assessment."

The Gerenuk bounced in place nervously. "What about me? What about my neck? It's very long and strong!"

"All in good time," the human replied, "Everyone gets their turn."

Eland stepped forward, her black two-piece bikini accentuating her lean, athletic build. "My frame is quite well-developed," she said, trying to maintain her dignity even as her ears flicked back in nervous anticipation. "The diagrams on me aren't as extensive as some of the others, but that's because I'm lean. Everything is just... more defined. More visible."

The human circled her slowly, appraising. "Lean muscle," he murmured. "Efficient. Easier to work with in some ways. You'd have less resistance." His hand traced along her flank, fingers ghosting over the muscle definition visible through her coat. "But you have surprising power, don't you? For someone so... spare."

The Eland swallowed thickly. "I... I can hold my own," she managed.

Gazelle approached next, her sandy coat gleaming in the ambient light of the beach house. She wore a light blue bikini that showed off her elegant frame. "My build is quite different from the others," she said softly, her voice carrying a slight tremor. "I'm not as bulky as the Waterbuffalo, not as tall as the Horse, not as... enthusiastic as the Goat. But I think that makes me... refined. Specialized."

"And you are," the human acknowledged, his eyes running over her delicate features and lean muscles. "Less bulk, but every piece is exactly where it needs to be. Efficient. You probably don't need much prep work, do you?"
