A trace of guilt flashed in Qianqian's eyes: "Sorry, I thought they were so badly injured that they wouldn't survive. Can you not speak of this? I don't want this affecting my father's reputation... He really is a good cat, he did this just to stop the cats from being persecuted by humans."
Josh frowned: "Aren't you a cat yourself? Don't you know how resilient a cat's life force is?"
Qianqian lowered her head: "I'm sorry."
Josh didn't say anything else: "Open the door."
Qianqian hesitated as she looked at her: "I can't open the door."
Josh: "Why?"
Qianqian bit her lip: "Even though it's wrong what my dad and I did, letting these cats out will cause panic. Can you guarantee they won't expose how my dad used my body to abuse the cats? The hospital has been sustained all this time by my dad's authority."
Only then did Josh realize, yes, people are selfish.
Though it was her dad's doing, it was her body that was used; once this gets out, neither of them can escape it.
