Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: My Little Sweetheart

Jared Quinn, sitting on the other side, tapped his long fingers on the glass table, his mysterious phoenix eyes also falling on her.

It was as if he was recalling every inch of her body from that scene in the bath, and her taste.

Melody Thorne didn't want to pay attention to that man, and continued to tempt little Timmy, "From now on, I'll make you delicious food every day. Can you call me something different?"

As soon as she spoke, all the servants looked over at her. Since yesterday, she had been putting on an act, and finally revealed her true intentions!

"Like...?" The little bun gave her a look, letting her figure it out herself.

He had just agreed yesterday to stick with her; if she dared to change that, he'd ignore her forever.

Like... Mommy, Melody Thorne stared at the little guy's face, opened her mouth, but never had the courage to say it out loud.

Seeing her hesitate, the little bun snorted, thinking she still pined for his dad.

Wasn't he as handsome as his dad?

"Melody," the little guy arrogantly decided for her.

He also shot her a look, meaning 'Dare to dislike it!'

Melody Thorne "..."

Fine, Melody is still better than just being called 'woman.'

Anyway, they've got plenty of time. She would eventually get the little guy to willingly call her Mommy.

"Let's go with that," Melody Thorne sat next to the little guy, occasionally wiping his mouth. She was on a diet, so she only drank a glass of milk, which she had already taken out earlier when she got the little guy's breakfast.

Another figure walked in from outside; it was Timothy Lockwood, Jared's friend.

He sat down at the dining table, waiting for something.

Melody Thorne looked up inexplicably and then lowered her head.

Timothy felt a slight yet impossible sense of being looked down upon, how could a foolish little fangirl look down on him?

"Ma'am, did you forget something?" the butler standing by reminded her.

Forgot what?

Melody Thorne furrowed her brows, thought for a moment. Whether in this life or the last, the first thing she did upon waking was make breakfast, what did she forget?

"Didn't forget anything."

The servants "..."

"What about the young master's breakfast?" a servant kindly reminded her; Melody had only prepared the little master's breakfast, what about the master's?

Usually, Melody had brought them out together.

"Oh..." Melody Thorne finally remembered. In the past, she took care of both Jared's and the little bun's breakfasts; she made them every day.

A few servants secretly chuckled, she actually forgot today, what is this? It's called killing two birds with one stone!!

Melody Thorne slowly sipped her milk, resting her head on her hand, her eyes half-closed as she glared at the servants, "If I have to make breakfast, what do I need you for?"

The servants "..."

One by one, they paled.

Even Jared Quinn's face darkened a bit, his dangerous eyes landing on that little woman.

"Little madam, didn't you say you wanted to prepare the master and young master's breakfast in the future?" the servant reminded, deliberately adding, "Did you forget that you wanted to win the master's favor?"

Melody Thorne had thought that way when she wanted to please Jared before,

But is it the same now? She had learned from her past life's lesson, she should latch onto a bigger opportunity, why stick with him?

How could that be possible?

"I now have my little sweetheart, why should I please him?" Melody Thorne's eyes were completely on the little bun beside her, brightly shining.
