Silas Cheney was just joking around, having a playful exchange with Thea Lynch.
He always enjoyed teasing Thea Lynch.
But Ian Preston was different.
Ian Preston usually kept his thoughts to himself, but when he did speak, he was sure to follow through.
On the way, Thea Lynch noticed Ian Preston freeing one hand to check his phone, unsure who he was messaging.
She didn't think much of it and continued chatting with Silas Cheney.
As soon as the car drove into Oakhaven Bay, Ian Preston's phone rang.
The car came to a halt, and Thea Lynch glanced at him before carrying his jacket and stepping out.
Ian Preston gestured for her to go ahead inside.
Thea Lynch handed his jacket over, not intending to overhear his call.
"Madam, you've returned."
The butler approached upon hearing her. Thea Lynch nodded, handing over her own jacket.
"Would Sir and Madam care for a night snack?"
