"Granny! What kind of tradition is that?!" Meredy exclaimed. The woman just giggled at the young girl's reaction. While Ultear could understand why the teen was so bashful, she knew she'd eventually get used it. This would have been the perfect chance to start relentlessly teasing the woman, but she decided against it. Ultear continued to work on her repairing her clothes for a little while longer until the teen eventually calmed down. "So Granny, I have a few questions."
"Go ahead, darling." Ultear replied. This was no real shocker to the woman, she'd reacted the same way when she was the pinkette's age.
"First, why did you tell me there was a wolf in the forest all these years?" Meredy asked. The purple haired woman had to stifle her laughter before she could answer.
"Two reasons. First, it annoys the hell out of Natsu when people think he's a wolf. Second, I was hoping it would deter you from coming through the forest and I could have Natsu-kun to myself." Ultear admitted. Meredy let out a sigh at the rather immature reasoning for the deception. For a supposedly wise woman, it was amazing just how petty she could be. "Well, I guess it was all for nothing since you're now his little red... Now clean up and start heading home, your mother will start getting worried and who knows, you might even run into that big bad wolf." She added with a sly grin.
