Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: We Are Husband and Wife

Previously, when she heard about his inhumanly cold habits, she simply thought he was a cold-blooded and heartless person, like a reptile, which made her dislike him even more.

But now, whenever she thought of his past lonely figure, Summer Shawcross suddenly felt a twinge of heartache.

She wanted to be there for him, to let him know that in this lifetime, she would never let him be alone again, nor would she do anything to hurt him.

...

Her sudden concern added a trace of awkwardness to Noah Drexler's face.

"Hmm." He turned away, not saying much, merely responding with a nod before sitting on the sofa in the room. He picked up the pile of documents that the assistant had delivered not long ago and began to look through them.

The corporation's affairs were demanding, and even during the honeymoon period, he couldn't afford any negligence.

Seeing this, Summer shrugged her shoulders and walked directly toward the large bed in the room.

Once she reached the bedside, Summer climbed onto it, tiredly resting her head on the pillow.

The pillow carried a faint mint scent, the fragrance of Noah Drexler's usual men's shampoo.

She used to dislike this smell, but now she found it... quite pleasant.

...

Noah Drexler, reviewing documents on the sofa, paused his fingers upon hearing sounds from the bed behind him.

An unreadable emotion flashed across his expressionless handsome face.

...

Seeing the man still seated on the sofa, unmoved, Summer propped her head with one hand, watching his busy figure from the bed, feeling a bit frustrated.

Does this man really not have any thoughts about her?

In her past life, if it weren't for the moment before her death, she wouldn't have known that this man held such deep feelings for her.

But now she had returned to six years ago, and everything was starting anew, leaving her a bit uncertain.

After all, she didn't know exactly when in the past life this man fell in love with her. Perhaps at this point in her rebirth, Noah Drexler's heart might not include her at all.

Thinking of these, Summer couldn't help but feel a headache.

"Ahem..." she cleared her throat, trying to catch the attention of the seriously working man.

However, Noah Drexler continued sitting on the sofa, staring at the documents, showing no sign of turning his head to look at her.

"Noah Drexler." Helplessly, she bit her lip and called out his name.

Upon hearing her voice, the man finally put down the document in his hand.

"It's getting late, let's go to bed earlier!" Summer continued to speak.

As her words fell, Noah Drexler finally turned his head to look at Summer, who had long since lay sideways on the bed, dressed in a nightgown. His stern face was again stilled, and his gaze instinctively shifted away from her strappy nightdress.

"Are you planning to sleep here?" He frowned, questioning her.

"Of course, we are husband and wife!" Summer nodded as if it were obvious.

His expression became complicated, squinting suspiciously and sternly observing her lying on the bed.

His gaze was sharp, as if he wanted to see through her.

She knew he was wary of her, suspecting that she was up to something again.

"I'm not used to having someone beside me." After a moment, he pursed his lips and said.

Afraid of being refused, Summer deliberately lowered her voice and spoke to him in a pleading tone. "Please, I promise I'll be obedient and won't disturb you, alright?"
