Summer Lowell glanced at the array of onlookers around her, quietly trying to step back a couple of paces to avoid their scrutiny.
Maxim Sinclair noticed her movement, pulled her into his arms, and with a feigned disgruntlement, smiled at the crowd around them: "Everyone, ease up with those stares, huh? If you scare Mrs. Sinclair, don't blame me for being impolite!"
The crowd burst into laughter, stepping forward to greet Summer Lowell properly.
Charles Jenson, who also came to play ball, caught Maxim Sinclair's hint and began to warm up the scene: "Everyone here is just curious, after all, we've known you for so many years and never seen you with a girlfriend. Suddenly seeing Mrs. Sinclair is quite a surprise."
"There's nothing surprising about it."
Maxim Sinclair, holding Summer Lowell by the waist, led her to a nearby lounge area and considerately handed her a cup: "Warm water, will you drink it? Or is there something else you'd like?"
