"What did you say?"
In the Great Buddha Main Hall, the abbot of Jinshan Temple, who was reciting the True Scripture beneath the Buddha statue, suddenly opened his eyes.
His gaze, clear as water and full of wisdom, shone with a compelling light, commanding respect without anger.
The group of senior monks studying Buddhist Dharma in the hall also frowned and looked with bewilderment at the novice monk delivering the message.
The novice monk, pale-faced and with trembling lips, repeated:
"Returning to the Abbot, just now, Elder Nine Beads' Life Soul Lamp Wick was extinguished..."
After speaking, he fell to the ground, weeping bitterly.
The faces of everyone in the Buddhist Hall changed. After a brief hesitation, they joined their palms together, and with compassion on their faces, mournfully uttered, "Amitabha!"
Then, Abbot Ku Wu, with furrowed brows, asked, "Do you know the details?"
The novice monk tearfully replied, "This disciple does not know."
