The carriage was forced to stop, and Ah Chen asked the driver, "What's wrong?"
"Miss Qin, Mr. Shen's men have blocked the carriage, I don't know what's going on." The driver's voice was somewhat shaky; with what little he'd seen of the world, these men of Mr. Shen looked ill-tempered — it seemed trouble was coming.
"Miss Qin, our young master is returning to the Capital City, and has specially come to invite you to travel with him." The guard captain's voice rang out. His tone was polite, but if one listened closely, there was a meaning in it that brooked no refusal.
Seeing that Ah Chen did not answer, the guard captain roughly lifted the carriage curtain, the blade in his hand gleaming coldly. His chilly voice sounded: "Miss Qin, sit tight."
With that, he let the curtain fall, then sat next to the driver. The driver did not dare disobey and could only turn the carriage around and urge on the horses in a different direction.
