Chapter 209 - Chapter 209. T.G. Limit-Break vs. Meklord Emperor! Two Dark Holes Shatter the Dream!

Chapter 209. T.G. Limit-Break vs. Meklord Emperor! Two Dark Holes Shatter the Dream!

The Duelists across all worlds quickly shifted their gaze from Sei Yuki to Bruno.

Just the explosive swarming of T.G. already—Bruno had executed it very well!

But the one regret was that he hadn't brought out T.G. Hyper Librarian to cash in on draws.

No one knew whether Bruno had forgotten, or left it out on purpose—

or perhaps, in his rush to Accel Synchro, he simply skipped making Librarian and missed out on cards.

So the question now: could Bruno finish Sei Yuki in one turn?

Unlikely…

But dealing massive damage—surely that was doable.

Bruno: "My turn! Draw!"

Bruno: "Mr. Yuki—don't tell me you bricked?"

Bruno: "In that case, I won't be polite!"

"However many Life Points you have—none can stop the assault of my T.G.!"

"All to Attack Position!"

"First strike! T.G. Trident Launcher! You take 2200 LP!"

Sei Yuki: "Fine—then I activate this Spell's effect."

Sei Yuki: "Backup Squad, activate!"

Sei Yuki: "When your monster's attack or effect makes me take 1000 or more damage, I activate it: for each 1000 of that damage, I draw 1 card from my Deck."

"Go on—keep attacking, if you're not afraid of me drawing."

Bruno: "Yah! I keep attacking!"

Bruno: "Second strike! T.G. Halberd Cannon/Assault Mode! You lose 4500 LP!"

Bruno: "Third strike! Shooting Star Dragon T.G. EX! You lose 3300 LP!"

"Fourth strike! T.G. Blade Blaster! You lose 4000 LP!"

"My Main Phase 2! T.G. – All Clear, effect!"

"I destroy T.G. Trident Launcher in the Extra Monster Zone!"

"I search T.G. Propeller Dragon from my Deck!"

"I activate the Spell T.G. – Limiter Removal. I discard T.G. Metal Skeleton—" "I search T.G. Booster Raptor and my last T.G. Propeller Dragon!"

"I Normal Summon Propeller Dragon; its effect revives T.G. Rocket Salamander from my Graveyard!"

"Tune 2 cards! Come on!"

"T.G. Over Dragonar!"

"Return to the field once more!"

"I revive T.G. Star Guardian and T.G. Recipro Dragonfly from the GY!"

"Star Guardian's effect—add Rocket Salamander back from my Graveyard!"

"My turn ends!"

Seeing Bruno keep attacking even though it let Sei Yuki draw, Duelists across every world pulled peculiar faces.

Earlier,

they'd thought Bruno might be a truly formidable Duelist—

someone who belonged among the Kings of Games.

But now,

watching him force through damage and feed the opponent cards,

their opinions began to shift.

The group chat also lit up at this moment—

Joey Wheeler: "Man, Accel Synchro's cool and all, but these attacks feel a bit off!"

Aster Phoenix: "Not attacking is no good either, right? With 30,000 LP to chew through, if he holds back, there'll be even less chance to break through later!"

Akiza Izinski: "Yeah. I think Bruno has his own plan—let's keep watching."

Alexis Rhodes: "Right, keep watching—the Duel's only just begun, isn't it?"

"...."

The chat quickly filled with debate over Bruno attacking in full knowledge that it would let the opponent draw.

And the turn had already passed to Sei Yuki.

Sei Yuki: "My turn, draw."

Sei Yuki: "I activate the Continuous Spell Meklord Assembly."

Sei Yuki: "As this card resolves on activation—"

"I add 1 Meklord monster from my Deck to my hand."

Bruno: "Chain—Accel!"

Bruno: "T.G. Star Guardian—Accel effect, activate!"

"I Triangle Accel Synchro it together with T.G. Over Dragonar and T.G. Recipro Dragonfly!"

"Level 12! A partner's card!"

"Shooting Quasar Dragon!"

Sei Yuki: "Resolving—by that effect—"

Sei Yuki: "I search Meklord Nucleus Infinity Core from my Deck!"

Sei Yuki: "Now the Meklord Astro Mekanikle in my hand can activate!"

"I send 3 Meklord monsters from my hand to the Graveyard to Special Summon it."

"I banish 3 Meklord in my Graveyard, then Special Summon Meklord Astro Dragon Triskelion!"

Bruno: "So it's Meklords, huh?"

Bruno: "I activate T.G. Halberd Cannon/Assault Mode on the field!"

Bruno: "When the opponent would Normal Summon, Set, or Special Summon—activate!"

"Negate that; banish those monsters and all Special Summoned monsters on your field!"

"Meklords? All of them—banished!"

"At this timing, my T.G. Blade Blaster can activate!"

"I Special Summon the banished Meklord Astro Mekanikle to my field!"

"This is the bond between me and T.G.!"

"Watch closely! Your advantage is fading, Mr. Yuki!"

Sei Yuki: "I Normal Summon Meklord Nucleus Infinity Core."

Sei Yuki: "I use Meklord Assembly—I discard 1, then destroy Infinity Core."

Sei Yuki: "Infinity Core triggers—I Special Summon Meklord Emperor Granel from my Deck."

"Meklord Assembly—I destroy your T.G. – All Clear."

"Meklord Emperor Granel's ATK/DEF increase by half my LP, and its ATK also gains the value of a monster it equips by its own effect."

"My Life Points are 19,500."

"So Meklord Emperor Granel's ATK/DEF are 9750."

"I Set 2 cards."

"I activate the Spell Exchange."

"I choose your Monster Reborn and add it to my hand."

"Your pick."

Bruno: "I choose…"

Bruno: "Maxx 'C'."

Bruno glanced over the parade of hand traps in Sei Yuki's hand, then—after some thought—took Maxx 'C'.

The other Duelists, too—when they pictured the choice—

they all subconsciously picked Maxx 'C'.

After all, that card's power needs no explanation.

After watching so many short duel videos—

how valuable is Maxx 'C'?

Do we even need to say it?

But the more they thought about it, the more confused the veterans became.

The Meklord Emperor Deck Mr. Sei Yuki was piloting—

looked… a bit on the "for-fun" side.

And even with all those resource cards in hand,

every attempt to build a board was being cleanly shut down by Bruno's elegant play.

Viewed that way,

even a Life Point lead didn't look so safe.

Meanwhile, in the 5D's world,

seeing the Meklord Emperors,

Yusei Fudo and the others grew pensive, their expressions complicated.

They hadn't expected

the Deck Sei Yuki chose to be the very same used by those three—

Placido, Luciano, and Jose.

Yusei remembered clearly: those three gave them enormous headaches.

It was Bruno who seized that opportunity

to teach him Accel Synchro.

They hadn't expected that after so many years, seeing Meklord Emperors again,

there was now a hint of unfamiliar strength.

"Looks like the Meklords also got some support in the higher world."

"Though it still doesn't seem like a match for T.G.."

"Bruno has a good chance."

Jack Atlas spoke flatly.

Yusei said nothing, his gaze returning to the video.

He couldn't shake the feeling it wasn't that simple.

If it was Meklord Emperors,

why include Exchange?

Even though this Exchange

let Mr. Sei Yuki get Monster Reborn,

that was just luck.

If Bruno hadn't had Monster Reborn,

wouldn't that swap have been riskier for Sei Yuki himself?

Strange—too strange.

Sei Yuki: "So you picked Maxx 'C'?"

Sei Yuki: "Alright—then I'll end my turn."

Sei Yuki: "Your move."

Bruno: "My turn! Draw!"

Bruno: "I Special Summon T.G. Drill Fish."

Bruno: "Battle Phase!"

"T.G. Drill Fish can attack directly."

"First strike! Direct attack connects—you lose 100 LP."

"Now its other effect can activate!"

"Drill Fish—destroy your Meklord Emperor Granel."

"Mr. Yuki! Next comes direct attacks from all my other monsters!"

"I think… you're about to be defeated!"

"Second strike! T.G. Blade Blaster! You lose 4000 LP!"

"Third strike! T.G. Halberd Cannon/Assault Mode! You lose 4500 LP!"

"Fourth strike! Shooting Star Dragon T.G. EX! You lose 3300 LP!"

"Fifth strike! Your Meklord Astro Mekanikle! You lose 4000 LP!"

"Sixth strike! Shooting Quasar Dragon…"

Sei Yuki: "I activate Meteorush – Monochroid from my hand!"

Bruno: "No dice!"

Bruno: "I activate Shooting Quasar Dragon to negate it!"

Bruno: "Shooting Quasar Dragon—continue the attack!"

Sei Yuki: "I activate Battle Fader from my hand."

Sei Yuki: "When your monster declares a direct attack—activate."

"Special Summon this card from my hand, then end the Battle Phase."

"A monster Special Summoned by this effect is banished if it leaves the field."

Bruno: "Mr. Yuki, looks like I'll have to give you one more turn."

Bruno: "In that case—my turn ends."

That flurry of five consecutive strikes

once again made Sei Yuki draw like mad from his Deck.

But the impact

shook Duelists across all worlds to the core.

So this is the hard-pressing suppression of T.G.—

cool.

Way too cool.

Especially the final pressure from Shooting Quasar Dragon—

it was overwhelming.

If not for Sei Yuki drawing Battle Fader in time,

that wave alone

might have let Shooting Quasar Dragon secure the win.

Only now did everyone sigh in unison.

Facing the opponent's Life Points,

taking the risk of letting them draw cards yet still pushing damage was the right line.

Even if it couldn't kill,

it could seize the chance to whittle down LP.

More importantly,

there was a chance to deck them out by forcing draws.

Even if Sei Yuki was on 60 cards,

it didn't erase the possibility of a deck-out.

Sei Yuki: "My turn—flip the first Set: Dark Hole."

Bruno: "If it were the old me, a single Dark Hole might have spelled my end."

Bruno: "But now—I'm different."

Bruno: "I activate Shooting Quasar Dragon—negate it."

Sei Yuki: "Oh? Is that so?"

Sei Yuki: "What if I have a second Dark Hole?"

Sei Yuki: "Antinomy, how will you respond?"

"Flip the second Spell—Dark Hole!"

"Everything—be destroyed!"

Bruno: "What?!"

Bruno: "My T.G.!"

Bruno: "But—at this moment I can activate Shooting Quasar Dragon's GY will-effect!"

Sei Yuki: "I chain Ghost Sister & Spooky Dogwood."

Sei Yuki: "Go ahead and Special Summon; I'll gain some LP back."

Bruno: "Friend's card—shine again! Shooting Star Dragon!"

Bruno: "At the same time, T.G. Halberd Cannon/Assault Mode's effect!"

"When this face-up card is destroyed: target a T.G. Halberd Cannon in my GY; Special Summon it, ignoring its Summoning conditions."

"Go—T.G. Halberd Cannon!"

Two Dark Hole.

They smashed to pieces the victory Bruno thought he had in hand—

and made Duelists of every world wince.

One Dark Hole—Quasar can still hold back.

Two Dark Hole—

even Quasar can't help with that.

What a shame.

Such a shame.

T.G.'s in-archetype bosses lacked protection from effect destruction.

At a glance—so many ace monsters on the field—

yet not a single one with resistance to being blown away by effects.

How frustrating is that?

Was this the T.G. regret?

Even if the last-will effects could bring back two monsters to hold the line,

those resources had been pulverized.

Could it be

the Duel was over?

Was Bruno

about to be defeated?

Sei Yuki: "Now it's my stage."

Sei Yuki: "I Normal Summon Meklord Army Deployer Obbligato."

"Activate the Continuous Spell Meklord Assembly—destroy Obbligato."

"At this moment, the Meklord Emperor Wisel in my hand can Special Summon itself."

"I activate Wisel's effect—equip your Shooting Star Dragon to it."

"My ATK rises to 5800."

"I Set 2 and enter the Battle Phase."

Bruno: "I activate T.G. Metal Skeleton in my Graveyard."

Bruno: "I banish it to prevent destruction."

Sei Yuki: "You'll still take 1800 damage either way."

Sei Yuki: "Battle's done—my turn ends."

Bruno: "My turn! Draw!"

Bruno: "I play Pot of Avarice."

Bruno: "I shuffle 5 monsters from my GY into the Deck and draw 2."

"I Normal Summon T.G. Propeller Dragon, and revive T.G. Rocket Salamander with its effect."

"Tune the 2 again—Synchro Summon T.G. Over Dragonar."

"Over Dragonar's effect—begin the revival!"

"T.G. Warwolf, T.G. Power Gladiator."

"T.G. Recipro Dragonfly, T.G. Star Guardian."

"I Set 1—my turn ends."

On the field,

Bruno once again reclaimed tempo with Accel.

A single Pot of Avarice

also returned critical Extra Deck pieces,

letting Over Dragonar lead resources back onto the field once more.

Sei Yuki LP: 10,200.

Bruno LP: 6,200.

But Bruno's face was grim.

As for the board shattered by the two Dark Hole,

he could only accept it.

After all, the cards in Sei Yuki's hand

were the very ones Bruno had incrementally "given" him by pushing damage.

Two Dark Hole was perfectly plausible.

But right now,

Extra Deck resources were still tight.

He had to speed up and end the Duel—

or defeat would be inevitable.
