Chapter 60 - CHAPTER 60

c60 – Beerus' Prophetic Dream

"Huh…? Huh—huh!"

At this moment, Beerus, the God of Destruction of Universe 7, who was still fast asleep in his temple, suddenly began to toss and turn restlessly. Sweat beaded down his forehead as his tail twitched erratically. His body jerked from side to side, as if trapped in a nightmare.

---

Inside Beerus's Dream...

Beerus found himself standing in a vast, empty void a space without light or sound. Suddenly, a blinding flash erupted before him. Out of the radiance emerged a figure wreathed in divine energy, its body enveloped in a crimson aura of godly ki. The being's face was obscured, but its overwhelming divine pressure instantly made Beerus tense.

Before Beerus could speak, the mysterious figure lunged forward, striking with such speed that even the God of Destruction barely had time to raise his arm. The two collided, their fists shattering the void itself, and an intense battle ensued a clash of destructive and divine powers that made the entire dream realm quake.

Just as Beerus began to feel exhilarated by the challenge, the scene suddenly shifted.

Now, he stood on a floating stone platform surrounded by silver light. From the sky descended another warrior a man with long, silver-white hair reaching down to his waist, and soft bangs that swayed with the wind. On his forehead glimmered a strange symbol like the number "∞", and behind him, a silver tail moved with calm precision. His entire body emanated a pure white aura, serene yet immeasurably deadly.

The silver-haired figure didn't hesitate he rushed Beerus instantly, his attacks so fast and fluid they tore the very fabric of the dream. Beerus tried to counter, unleashing spheres of Destruction Energy, but they were casually deflected. In moments, he was overwhelmed, driven to his knees by a barrage of incomprehensible power. His Hakai energy was swallowed whole by the figure's silver ki and then, with one final strike, Beerus was hurled into darkness.

He gasped and awoke with a start.

---

Beerus sat upright on his bed, breathing heavily, his eyes wide and pupils contracted. For a long moment, he didn't speak. He simply sat there, tail still, gaze fixed on nothing. Then, in a low, uneasy voice, he muttered to himself:

"Was that… a prophetic dream again? Like the one I had before I met the Super Saiyan God?"

He rubbed his temples, thinking carefully.

"In that dream, I saw two figures. One… radiating godly red aura could that be another Saiyan who's reached the level of a Super Saiyan God? And the other… that silver-haired warrior… he defeated me without effort."

Beerus clenched his fist, his sharp nails digging into his palm. "Silver hair… white aura… could that be the power of the Angels? No… it felt different. It wasn't Whis's ki , it was… mortal."

The realization made Beerus uneasy. If the second figure was real, it meant a mortal strong enough to surpass even a God of Destruction existed somewhere in Universe 7 or beyond.

After several moments of silent thought, Beerus's eyes suddenly widened. He leapt from his bed, fur bristling.

"If that dream was prophetic, then that warrior is coming! And if he's the one who defeated me in that vision, I can't just sit here! There's no way a mere mortal could best the God of Destruction of Universe 7!"

He stormed toward the temple doors, shouting, "Whis! Whis! Where are you?!"

But when he stepped outside, the courtyard was strangely empty. Whis, who was usually right at his side whenever he woke, was nowhere to be seen.

"Whis?!" Beerus's tail flicked with irritation. "Don't tell me you're slacking off again!"

---

Outside the Temple of Destruction

Beyond the temple's crystal archway, Whis stood quietly beside the Prophecy Fish. The two were deep in conversation, their expressions unusually serious. The Prophecy Fish floated nervously, its usual smugness replaced by guilt.

"Whis," it murmured, its fins trembling slightly, "are you sure this is the right thing to do? I don't like hiding things from Lord Beerus. He raised me, after all…"

Whis smiled faintly, though his usual calm demeanor carried a shadow of gravity. He extended his right hand and gently patted the Prophecy Fish on its head.

"You and I both know the gravity of this situation," Whis said softly. "That dream wasn't a random vision, it's a glimpse of a future we're not ready for."

"But Whis… that silver-haired being his ki wasn't divine. It was mortal! If Lord Beerus learns that, he'll"

"That's precisely why he must not know yet," Whis interrupted gently, his eyes narrowing. "If he acts rashly, it could trigger what we're trying to prevent. Just cooperate for now. Leave everything to me."

The Prophecy Fish hesitated but eventually nodded. "Fine… but I still don't like deceiving him."

Whis's smile returned, calm but unreadable. "It's not deception," he said. "It's protection for him, and for the entire universe."

As Beerus's angry shout echoed from within the temple, Whis turned his gaze toward the stars where, somewhere far away, Lin Hao's rising ki was beginning to ripple through the cosmos.

Mentioning that matter, the Prophecy Fish lowered his small head, thought for a while, and said hesitantly,

"Okay… but only this time! If something goes wrong again, I'll!"

Seeing that the Prophecy Fish had compromised, Whis smiled softly and quickly said,

"Excellent! Thank you very much you've made the right choice."

---

Meanwhile, inside the Temple of the God of Destruction, an irritated voice suddenly echoed through the hall.

"Whis! Whis! Damn it, where did that guy go? Don't tell me he's gone off to eat delicious food without me again!"

Beerus stomped out of his chamber, his tail flicking with annoyance. His violet eyes burned with impatience his prophetic dream had shaken him to the core, and now he couldn't rest until he knew who those two mysterious figures were.

---

Outside the temple, Whis and the Prophecy Fish both heard Beerus's furious shouting.

Startled, the Prophecy Fish immediately ducked back into its crystal tank, its fins trembling nervously.

"Ahhh! I'm not here! I'm not here!" it squeaked, darting out of sight in a flash of blue light. Clearly, the fish had no desire to face Beerus's temper right now.

Whis, however, didn't stop it. His expression returned to its usual serene indifference. After letting out a quiet sigh, he twirled his Angel's staff once, activating his Ultra-Instinct-level Instant Transmission. In a ripple of divine light, he appeared directly in front of Beerus.

He bowed politely and said in his calm, respectful tone,

"Lord Beerus, you're awake! You seem rather anxious this morning did something happen while you were asleep?"

---

Seeing Whis appear, Beerus's expression immediately changed from irritation to relief.

He ran up to Whis, looking unusually animated.

"Whis! I just had a prophetic dream!"

Whis blinked in mild surprise. "A prophetic dream…?"

He remembered the last time Beerus had one the vision that foretold the coming of the Super Saiyan God, which ultimately led to Goku's ascension on Earth.

Composing himself, Whis asked, "Lord Beerus, what sort of dream was it this time? Could you describe it to me?"

---

"Yeah!" Beerus nodded, closing his eyes as he tried to recall the fragments.

"At first, I dreamed about a god-like warrior surrounded by a blazing red aura definitely divine energy fighting me head-on. But later, another guy appeared… he had long, silver-white hair that flowed down to his waist and this strange white aura that wasn't godly ki. That one… beat me senseless! I couldn't even fight back!"

Beerus frowned, tapping his chin. "And then… there was something else, something big, but I woke up before I could see what happened."

He crossed his arms, clearly frustrated. Even as a God of Destruction, he knew that dreams especially prophetic ones often faded fast. Despite his divine memory, he couldn't recall every detail. And that only made his unease grow.

---

Whis listened carefully, his expression thoughtful. It wasn't often that Beerus's prophetic dreams extended beyond divine power the inclusion of a mortal with silver ki was particularly curious.

He raised a hand to his chin. "Hmm… fascinating. A being strong enough to defeat you in your own dream that's certainly something I've never witnessed before."

Whis smiled faintly. "Perhaps this vision is connected to recent cosmic fluctuations. A mortal may have finally reached a level beyond the gods."

Beerus's eyes widened slightly. "Beyond me? Hah! Impossible! The only beings stronger than me are the Angels and the Grand Priest himself! You're telling me a mortal could do that? Don't joke with me, Whis!"

Whis didn't answer, but the faint smile on his lips never left.

---

After a moment of silence, Beerus suddenly changed the subject.

"By the way, Whis, while I was asleep… did Frieza handle that matter for me? You know, Planet Vegeta?"

Whis nodded calmly. "Yes, Lord Beerus. Planet Vegeta has been completely destroyed. Frieza did exactly as you ordered."

"Oh, good. That arrogant King Vegeta was always too stingy for his own good. I could've wiped out that planet myself, but really, it was too far, and I didn't feel like wasting the trip." Beerus stretched lazily, as if talking about the destruction of an entire race was just a minor errand.

He yawned and added casually, "Speaking of Frieza, he's got that awful smirk and the personality of rotten tofu. Maybe next time we see him, I'll destroy him myself just for fun!"

Whis smiled faintly again and said, "No need, Lord Beerus. Frieza has already been defeated."

"Huh? What?! Someone actually defeated Frieza?!"

Beerus froze mid-step, his eyes widening.

In his memory, Frieza was a tyrant whose power was enough to terrify entire galaxies not the strongest in Universe 7, but far beyond most mortals. And considering the might of the Frieza Force and the influence of the Cold family, no ordinary being could have possibly killed him.

"Who did it, Whis?" Beerus demanded, his tail flicking restlessly. "Who in Universe 7 could've beaten that arrogant lizard?!"

---

Whis smiled knowingly, his staff glowing faintly as he projected an image into the air the image of a man standing tall, surrounded by golden energy and red lightning.

"His name… is Son Goku, a Saiyan from Earth. He's the one who awakened the power of a Super Saiyan."

Beerus's eyes narrowed, recognition flashing in them.

"A Saiyan…? From Planet Vegeta's survivors? Interesting."

Whis nodded lightly. "And, according to my observation… there's another Saiyan, far stronger than even him one whose ki doesn't belong to either god or mortal realms."

As Whis's staff shimmered, Beerus saw a faint image of Lin Hao, his silver-white aura flickering like starlight.

---

Beerus's ears twitched. "That ki… that's him! That's the one from my dream!"

Whis's smile deepened slightly. "It seems your prophetic dream was no accident, Lord Beerus. The time of the strongest mortals… is approaching."

Beerus crossed his arms, his sharp eyes narrowing toward the stars.

"Fine. If this Lin Hao really exists, I'll test him myself. No one surpasses the God of Destruction without proving it."

Whis chuckled softly, tilting his head. "As you wish, Lord Beerus. I'll make the arrangements."
