I stared at him as if he had sprouted horns and a second head. My throat tightened. "What the hell do you mean by that?"
Devante's stance flattered a little bit but he adjusted himself again. His gaze was steady, almost reverent as it swept over the glowing symbols carved into the chamber walls. He stepped closer to the pedestal, brushing his fingers over the cracked surface like it was sacred.
