"You're infuriating."
"And you're impossible."
"Yet you love me."
"Unfortunately," I shot back, though my grin betrayed me.
He smirked, brushing his nose against mine. "Fortunately."
We kissed again, slower this time, lips lingering, savoring. For once, we weren't fighting. We weren't pretending. The walls we'd built were gone, crumbling under the weight of something bigger than both of us.
When he finally pulled back, his forehead rested against mine, his hand still cupping my cheek. His voice was a whisper. "Sonia… no matter what happens next, don't doubt this. Don't doubt me. I… don't know how I can… can…". His mood suddenly became sullen and he started to stutter.
"Is there something you want to tell me?". I asked, my eyes searching his face.
"Err…no..that's not it."
"Then what is it?".
He let out a low sigh. " I just don't want you to doubt me no matter what happens in the future"
