Chapter 24 - Delusional And Deprived Of Fatherly Care

Lucas strolled into his car and slammed his forehead against the steering wheel in exhaustion.

He stayed there for a while, before getting into a sitting position.

He pressed on the brakes harshly as he sped up to his vast mansion.

A bitter smile graced his lips as he pulled into the driveway, staring at the exterior of his mansion.

Despite how beautiful it looked on the outside, it was empty on the inside.

Just like him…

Turning off the ignition, he pulled off his keys and hopped off his car.

His legs moved in quick strides as he walked inside, pausing as he noticed some kind of eery vibes in the house. .

The maids who where usually cheerful and gossiped around where unusually quiet.

Because of how free he was with them, they had never been intimidated by his presence. They always went about their work without a care in the world regardless of if he was present or not.

Moreover, they had somehow grown up with him.

''G—Good day sir.'' One of the maids uttered, her voice shaky as she bowed her head in respect.

Lucas watched her hurried away, a stray tear escaping her eyes.

He walked into the house in curiosity, his steps halting as he stared at a woman with perfectly manicured nails and a skin so smooth, you would think she underwen a major procedure.

''Mother.'' He whispered, making Olivia stone whipped her head in his direction.

Immediately she sighted him, she got off the couch and headed to him, a large scowl plastered on her face.

''Rita told me about everything! How could you do this to her?'' Olivia snapped, crossing her hands against her chest as she stared at him.

Lucas ignored her.

He moved to walk past her when her hand grasped unto his arms, stopping him.

Her long nails dug into his skin but Lucas didn't flinch.

He just stared at her angrily, his icy glare making her let go of her grasp on his arms.

Turning away from her, Lucas started to walk up the stairs.

''Your brother is back. He is here, in New York.'' She shouted, making Lucas freeze.

''I don't have a brother.'' He replied codly, his orbs devoid of emotions.

''Yes you do. And wether you like it or not, Romano is back to take what is rightfully his. You stole Rita away from him, the least you can do is keep her!'' Olivia shouted, her chest heaving.

Lucas gritted his teeth, clenching his jaws.

There were two things he just couldn't stand!

His brother and the thoughts his brother had put into the heads of the people around him.

He never stole Rita from Romano.

Infact, Romano was never with rita in the first place. He just wanted everything Lucas had because he was delusional and deprived of fatherly care.

Lucas scoffed, an hysterical laughter escaping his lips.

''Well then he can have her back. I already called off the engagemeht anyways.'' He spat out, taking long strides to his study.

His door slammed shut and Olivia jumped, shocked by the harshness in Lucas's tone.

He was no longer with Rita?!

She quickly pulled out her phone and dialed Rita.

Meanwhile… Alex was now plopped on the swivel chair of his home study.

He picked up his phone and turned it on, shocked by how many missed calls Hatmonica had left him.

He quickly dialed her number, waiting in anticipation for her to pick up.

''Hi!'' Harmonica voice bloomed from the other side of the phone. She sounded busy and he felt like he had called at the wrong time. But he just couldn't let go—

''I—Y—You called me.'' Lucas stuttered, throat dry as he struggled to find his next words.

''Oh yh! It was regarding the deal with Sasha shumpert. You don't need to call me through my personal line, I'll be at your office tomorrow.'' She said hurriedly.

Before he could retort, she hung up.

He sighed.

''Can I have the strawberry pleaseeee?!'' Zade asked, pouting as he stared at his mother with innocent eyes.

Anna melted.

''You you can baby.'' She said, putting the strawberry flavored ice cream in front of him as she ruffled his hair.

She scooped a spoon fool of the ice cream and placed it in her mouth, the icy feeling moving down her throat and straight to her core.

She moaned in satisfaction.

Romano stared at her, smiling.

He dipped his index finger into the ice cream and scooped it out, smudging it on Harmonica's nose.

She flinched at the coldness, her face scrunched up as she felt the ice cream melt and drip down her nose.

''What was that for?!'' She whined, frowning.

Zade giggled, easing the frown lines on Harmonica's face.

She laughed too, dipping her fingers into the ice cream and smudging it on both Zade and Romano's face

They all laughed heartily, making Romano wish they both belonged to him.

Too bad Harmonica had never looked at him as anything more than a brother.

''Mommy can we go shopping later today?'' Zade asked, his eyes pleading.

''I don't know baby. I think you've done a lot for one day.'' She said, wiping the ice cream that was smudged around his lips.

''I didn't do anything!'' Zade huffed in anger, his forehead scrunching as Anger brimmed through him.

''Calm down little buddy. You should cut your mother some slacks.'' Romano interrupted, patting Zade's hair.

Harmonica smiled, getting lost in thought.

After a while, a smile escaped her lips as she patted Zade's shoulders, making him face her.

His lips was still pouty and his forehead still folded.

She kissed it, making the line ease. ''We can go shopping baby.'' She said, earning her a toothy grin from the little master.

''Can we really?'' Zade asked, his doe eyes mesmerizing her.

No way she was saying no to that!

''Yes we can!'' She smiled, patting his head as she felt Romano's piercing gaze on her.

She knew exactly what to do and she knew exactly the person that would help her do it.

His gaze was currently on her, his brows raised in questions.

''Let's talk.'' He said, eyeing her.

Harmonica nodded, scooping some more ice cream into Zade's plate before standing up and following behind Romano to the terrace.

''What the fuck do you think you're doing raising the little boy's hope?!'' Romano questioned immediately they stepped on the terrace, facing each other.

''Shhh'' Harmonica gestured, placing her index finger to hislips in an attempt to get him to be quiet.

They were just a few feets away from Zade. ''He'll hear you. Plus…I'm not playing tricks on him. I have a solution.'' She whispered, making Romano's ears strain as he listened to her.

''What solution?'' He asked, getting closer.

''We can just book the whole mall!''
