Chapter 31 - The Signal Beyond the Stars

Space had never been this quiet.

High above Omega Earth, the Watchtower orbited in silence, its lights flickering like a lone candle in a storm. Inside, Batman, Cyborg, and Captain Marvel stared at a holographic pulse — a single line of light, steady and rhythmic.

"It's been repeating every eleven minutes," Cyborg said, his voice low. "No origin. No known frequency. It's like… the signal is coming from outside existence."

Batman leaned forward. "Show me the pattern again."The pulse expanded — lines of golden energy forming a sigil, ancient and perfectly symmetrical.Captain Marvel frowned. "That's not Kryptonian, not Asgardian… not anything."Cyborg shook his head. "It's older. It's writing made of energy itself."

Then, the signal changed. The pulse flickered faster — the golden light bleeding into crimson. The entire Watchtower shuddered.

"Something's answering it," Cyborg warned.Batman's eyes narrowed. "From where?""Everywhere."

Across Omega Earth, chaos unfolded. In Wakanda, the vibranium mines glowed as if alive. In Atlantis, the sea boiled from below. And in Themyscira, the sky tore open with thunder that whispered words — not in speech, but in memory.

Wonder Woman heard it clearly.

"First Light returns…"

Back in space, the Watchtower's main screen erupted in a burst of golden fire. Through the glare, a silhouette appeared — vast, humanoid, ancient. A being made of shifting light, faceless yet filled with power that made even gods tremble.

Cyborg whispered, "That's no alien."Batman's jaw tightened. "No. That's a memory of creation."

The being raised its hand — and the stars bent.

The Second Convergence had begun.
