*Screech~*
Wrapped in a seemingly thin layer of Sword Qi, the alloy blade sliced through the Titan's body. The thick armor was instantly torn apart like paper, exposing the cockpit inside.
Without a glance at the pilot's shocked face, Ming Yu stepped on his chest, the heavy force instantly rendering the ordinary human pilot unconscious.
*Thud!*
The steel giant crashed to the ground, the sound of metal scraping against the floor grating on the ears.
Looking with disdain at the now-dull, chipped longsword in his hand, Ming Yu shook his somewhat numb wrist, marveling at the thickness of Anti-Entropy's mechs and once again missing the sharpness of a Divine Key.
Although it was a weapon made of high-strength alloy, it lacked the ability to conduct Honkai Energy. Not only could it not compare to Schicksal's Honkai Energy weapons, but the gap between it and a Divine Key was even wider. Just felling a squad of Titans had damaged it to the point of being unusable.
But this was just a weapon he had picked up along the way, and Ming Yu hadn't held high expectations for it. He himself couldn't be bothered to go to a relevant lab to find a Honkai Energy weapon. That kind of treasure-hunting was unreliable, and he didn't have that much time to waste.
Although the three inferior-pinnacle Honkai Beasts had achieved remarkable results, Ming Yu had never expected them to be able to dismantle ME Corp on their own. This was, after all, an important base for Anti-Entropy; it was impossible for them not to have countermeasures.
Even an S-rank Valkyrie could only conduct infiltration operations here and couldn't go head-to-head with an ME Corp backed by Anti-Entropy. Although, in a sense, a certain S-rank Valkyrie's infiltration operation was even more reckless than a frontal assault.
Storming a base by walking right into traps prepared by others was even more unreliable than a so-called "undetected infiltration."
But, none of that was important.
Ming Yu had never intended to infiltrate from the start. A two-pronged attack, a frontal assault, was the most logical method, much better than those tactics that claimed to be infiltration but were actually just a rampage.
What's more, the current ME Corp didn't have an executive named Cocolia, nor did it have any precious experimental subjects like Herrschers. Its defense level could only be considered average.
Faced with the three Honkai Beasts rampaging through the industrial park, the person in charge of ME Corp couldn't possibly turn a blind eye. If ME Corp were truly dismantled, the morale of the people here would collapse.
Who would want to stay and work in a place so dangerous that even their life couldn't be guaranteed? Did they really think everyone was working for love and willing to die for it?
ME Corp's resources were limited. The more power they used to deal with the Honkai Beasts, the less they had to stop Ming Yu.
Any smart person would know that the Honkai Beasts in front were just a feint, but if they failed to stop them, this feint would be enough to destroy most of ME Corp. By then, no one would think it was just a feint.
The inexplicable destruction of their headquarters would be a huge blow to ME Corp. Not just the actual economic losses, but the loss of credibility would be even more fatal.
And for a company that has lost its credibility, any partner would re-evaluate their cooperation with it. In this era of economic globalization, losing partners means extinction.
A giant in turmoil would not be greeted by benevolent souls offering help in its time of need, but by a pack of circling wolves. History has proven this countless times.
To gamble the entire fate of ME Corp for the sake of potentially leaked Anti-Entropy secrets?
The people at ME Corp right now must be very conflicted.
The relationship between ME Corp and Anti-Entropy was indeed very close, but it was far from being as tight as that between Schicksal's branches and its headquarters. In comparison, the various departments of Anti-Entropy were more like a loose alliance, together forming the behemoth that was Anti-Entropy.
If Schicksal was a centralized empire, then Anti-Entropy was a feudal monarchy. The various branches of Schicksal could cooperate without regard for their own interests under the coordination of the headquarters, but what about Anti-Entropy?
Perhaps ME Corp and Anti-Entropy could achieve that kind of relationship in the future, but not now.
And when individual interests conflict with the interests of the alliance, what choice should the individual make?
Ming Yu didn't know what decision ME Corp would make, but they certainly wouldn't be able to focus all their energy on him. And for Ming Yu, that was enough.
It was a very simple strategy, but undoubtedly very effective.
If he were truly asked to play at espionage games like sowing discord and counter-intelligence, Ming Yu admitted he didn't have the brains for it. He would probably be tricked into a dizzying mess by those masterminds, losing everything down to his underwear. People who treat all their enemies as idiots are most likely the real idiots themselves.
This kind of simple, straightforward gambit was the only method Ming Yu knew how to use, and the most effective.
Regardless of ME Corp's choice, it would be advantageous for Ming Yu. At the very least, what stood in his way would not be a complete ME Corp.
And if it was just ME Corp at this level, how could it possibly stop him? It couldn't even force him to deploy his Lunar Abyss Armor.
Glancing at the fallen Titan mechs, a cold smile appeared on Ming Yu's lips.
All the models had appeared in Schicksal's database before, and less than half of the exposed cockpits had pilots, which was enough to show ME Corp's attitude.
Known models meant their flaws and weaknesses were already clear, and one could even calculate how much power was needed to deal with them. And the lack of pilots meant these were just cannon fodder.
Unmanned piloting might sound cool, but in reality, they were just flashy toys, even worse than data-simulated Honkai Beasts.
A machine that operates solely on pre-determined programming is like a boss whose patterns have been figured out by the player. No matter how powerful your ultimate move is, you'll still end up being toyed with until you're defeated.
Giving a thumbs-up towards a surveillance camera, Ming Yu smashed the chipped longsword into the camera before unhurriedly walking towards his destination.
And what if ME Corp was willing to go down in flames just to protect Anti-Entropy's secrets?
Then Ming Yu would have nothing more to say. He would just unleash the Key of Corruption and go on a rampage. When facing Anti-Entropy, a civilization with highly developed industrial technology, the Key of Corruption had a huge advantage.
Even Fire Moth suffered a great loss when they first faced the Herrscher of Corruption, losing their entire industrial civilization. Although Ming Yu couldn't achieve that level, just hacking a single ME Corp wouldn't be a big problem.
Perhaps Welt and the conservative faction had guessed that Ming Yu had the Key of Corruption and had even begun to secretly guard against it. After all, Ming Yu had leaked a lot of information in that battle, enough for Welt and his allies to figure some things out.
But for Cocolia and the radical faction, this piece of intelligence was still a blank slate.
Even though they were both part of Anti-Entropy, there was no shortage of scheming between the two factions. Moreover, it would be difficult for Einstein to explain the source of her intelligence to Cocolia; Welt's whereabouts remained a secret to the radical faction.
Even after becoming the vice-sovereign and holding great power in Anti-Entropy, Cocolia had never entered Anti-Entropy's innermost circle.
