"They're… gone."

"Catwoman" Selina's voice was laced with a sadness that surprised her. Her hair was still slightly disheveled from her previous "fight" with Connors, a stark contrast to Black Siren's perfect golden waves. But even after learning the truth—that Seaside City and its heroes were just a creation of the monster Thompson—Black Siren had followed the Justice Society into their final attack without a moment's hesitation.

Johnny Quick had punched Thompson, the monster who was controlling "Green Lantern" Hal, sending the deformed creature with its big head and small body falling to the ground.

"Wha—!" As soon as Thompson opened his mouth, five shadows enveloped him. Blood vessels beat violently on the tumor covering his head as he glared with his cloudy eyes and gnashed his teeth. "You can't do this! I created you!"

"That's why only we, the ones you created, can defeat you," Black Siren smiled. The woman who had, at first glance, seemed so coquettish in her tube-top jumpsuit and black stockings, glanced at Connors. She certainly had an endless, lingering aftertaste of the mysterious man's "water crime." But right now, the Justice Society needed her more.

"Let justice prevail!" Johnny Quick, as the leader, spoke their declaration. His speed, Atom Smasher's electric light, the Green Guardian's green light, Catman's darts, and Black Siren's claws… they all took their abilities to the absolute extreme without reservation.

It wasn't until then that Connors discovered, somewhat unexpectedly, why they had been able to fight Superman, The Flash, and the others before. The members of the Justice Society were strong.

They were certainly strong, but the monster Thompson was not weak either. After taking a beating, he knocked everyone back, sending them flying with a blazing shot of golden light.

Atom Smasher, the strongman, was the first to stand up. With both hands, he lifted a pillar that remained from the broken manor and smashed it at the monster. The immense force sent Thompson flying from inside the estate to the square outside before he stopped. The pillar was pinched to pieces by his hands. Then, he was greeted by another fierce attack from the Justice Society.

"Connors, aren't you going to help them?" Selina asked, her voice soft.

Connors had sat in his chair from start to finish. He was immobile, whether it was the roof of the estate being overturned, Superman, Batman, and the others falling to the ground, or the Justice Society going all out.

"Whether we help or not, they will win in the end," Connors said, his voice quiet. "What I have to do now is deeply remember their appearance." His words weren't just for "Catwoman" Selina, but also for the superheroes who were slowly climbing up from the rubble in every corner of the estate.

Just as "Green Lantern" Hal recovered from his splitting headache, he was stunned when he heard Connors's words. He flew into the air to look outside. The Justice Society's battle with the monster Thompson had gone to a fever pitch. Although they were created life, these superheroes, who were now out of Thompson's control, were able to do great harm to him.

With a final roar from the monster, a gray glow blossomed around him. Superman and Batman also stood up. They saw that the so-called "light" was actually Seaside City breaking away from the illusion and returning to its original appearance as a post-war ruin.

"Green Lantern" Hal looked excited, just like in his childhood comics when the Justice Society defeated the monster. He had a heartfelt joy, but this joy did not last long. The five members of the Justice Society stood next to the defeated Thompson and looked up at Hal flying in the air.

Johnny Quick put his index and middle fingers together at the corner of his eyebrow, then gestured in a salute at Hal. Then, the five of them just disappeared.

After they disappeared, the illusion of Seaside City quickly returned to its ruinous appearance. "Green Lantern" Hal raised his left hand and looked at the ring he was wearing. The ring symbolizing the Justice Society also disappeared quickly at this time. The rings worn by Superman, Batman, Catwoman, and The Flash also disappeared.

Connors at this point closed his eyes. He was going to use his "Relic from a Dream" ability to bring back the five heroes.

"They did it…" whispered Barry the Flash. "Thompson could no longer sustain the illusion."

"Superman" Clark also nodded. "Yes, the Justice Society's attack was too powerful."

"Batman" Mr. Wayne was the first to walk towards the monster Thompson. "The fear of war and the radiation from the nuclear explosion caused Thompson to mutate, allowing him to create this false world. So he, like you, Hal, chose Seaside City in his heart and let the superheroes he admired as a child guard it."

In the dilapidated city, the familiar ice cream truck melody played again, and the driver arrived in his car, followed by the people of Seaside City.

"Are you all real?" Barry said in surprise. "I thought everything was false."

"Green Lantern" Hal said to these people with mixed emotions, "I'm sorry, we ruined your world, and now all that's left are nightmares."

The driver got out of the car on his own initiative and took off his hat. "Being imprisoned in an ice cream truck and unable to stop for forty years is a nightmare. In contrast, rebuilding our homes is a piece of cake."

The only two policemen in Seaside City even came over and shook "Green Lantern" Hal Jordan's hand. "Thank you for giving us our future back. I can't believe the nightmare is finally over."

After a short conversation, the topic returned to "how to go back."

"Green Lantern" Hal said, "Remember that entry-level multidimensional portal Connors mentioned before? The problem of energy might be solved with my Green Light ring."

The group re-walked towards the Justice Society estate in ruins and succeeded in finding the portal.

"Man, it's time to go home," Barry came up and patted Connors on the shoulder.

[Melon Today: Justice Society][Submit?]

The emergence of the Melon-eating System declared the matter here completely over. Connors did not linger much, following the others through the portal.

Above the ruins of Metropolis, the six of them appeared in turn. All stood without speaking, staring at Connors. Staring at Connors's left hand, to be exact. There was still a ring with the "JS" logo on it.

"Green Lantern" Hal was quite sensitive to the Justice Society at this time and stepped forward to ask, "How did you do it?"

"My ability is not yet able to bring them back, so I only brought this ring," Connors said with some regret.

"Once again, you reveal a secret you haven't shown," Master Wayne said in a deep voice. "Connors, who the hell are you?"

"Green Lantern" Hal, "Superman" Clark, and the others also looked at Connors.

"Hal, Barry, remember you all asked me what my title was?" Connors said. It doesn't sound very good to be called the Melon-Eater. Fortunately, I was prepared… Connors complained silently and said, "Knowing many things but being outside of events… you can call me 'The Outsider'."
