Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Shining Moon

The Loliant family, a noble family from the country of Monteir, ruled Ahlen city from year 723 of Kalain Era to year 9 of L.E, in charge of all city laws and managing the main affairs of Ahlen city, while the mayor was merely a puppet. Their home was located in the north of Ahlen.

The Loliant family was known as a scary and ruthless family, not for what they did on stage, but for what they did behind the scenes. They were involved in many terrible things, such as slavery, silent steal, tax evasion, and many others. They were known as the Nogenaltranto family or the Unholy Family. They used anything to maintain their position and death was always waiting in front of their house. Some of these killings were not even logical and did not benefit them, but in the end, perhaps the goal was something else...

They were destroyed after the new king of country ascended the throne in year 963 of Kalain Era, Landora the Fourth. The new king treated the bad nobles like insignificant flies and destroyed them, and the Loliant family was not an exception to this. All the infidel members of that family were hunted down and killed like lambs, and in the end only one remained, the head of the family, Ser Augustus Meg Loliant. He was a very clever but cowardly man. In the last moments of his life, when he was being caught by the soldiers of Hamulnath, he committed suicide like a loser, and their family was destroyed, in the year 15 of L.E, but something strange about their family still remained.

When the Loliant family house was searched and examined, no bodies were found anywhere in the house, as if no one had been killed there. While more than hundreds of people were killed and tortured there, and there were still traces of blood and torn flesh on the floors of the basement and the torture chamber, there were no bodies, no graves. Even after years, no one could solve the mystery of this incident, so the house remained with its secrets and was later used by several noble families for the next hundred and ninety years, because of its beautiful structure and design, even though this house was built with the blood and pain of many people. But the mysteries of this house were solved long ago, but not by society, but by other people. Those who were known as Prayers, and more specifically, Prayers of the Thread and Silk group.

"That house was right here!!! How is that possible?!!"

1:12AM. Preston Street, North Side of Ahlen city.

Two men are walking somewhere in the dark, one a middle-aged man and the other a young novice with brown hair and a youthful and attractive face, but a complete coward who doesn't move from the middle-aged man's side.

Chandler and Officer Kager finally arrive at the location of the Loliant family house. The Loliant family house was in use until the year 209 of L.E, but suddenly one day all the living people in that house, even the pets and animals, completely disappeared and even after a long search, nothing was found, so this time it was decided to abandon the house forever. The reasons for these events are quite clear, because one of the demons of death seems to have returned from a long sleep.

"These things happen all the time, Chandler, you have to get used to it."

Kager laughs a little at Chandler and his scared expression. What are you laughing at?! was something Chandler wanted to say but couldn't.

"Sir, I don't want to get used to any of these things!!"

"It's your fault to chose this job."

"You got me into this dangerous job!!! I was living comfortably with my mother!!!"

"Anyways."

Officer Kager walks into the place where the house used to be, leaving Chandler alone in the rain, in this darkness, in this hollow wind. Chandler wanted to stay there to prove that he didn't need this job or Kager, and exactly five seconds later he's running towards Kager.

"Sir, don't leave me alone!!"

The place where the Loliant family's house stood is completely empty, as if the house had suddenly flown or disappeared. Kager sits down and examines the mud on the ground for a while. This mud is gray and has a strange texture, as if it were ash, whose ash it is, it is not clear.

"This was bound to happen, it was just a matter of time. This event and the event in the year 209 of L.E, they are related, how is unknown. Maybe a prayer was here, when and how and by what path is unknown. Probably either by the path of death or by the path of blood, for they usually require a sacrifice. A sinner can use these methods for his own rituals and acting, but for the body to completely disappear, it's a completely different story."

Chandler, who is not entirely familiar with these things, asks with a bit of curiosity.

"Is it possible that they are from a group like us?"

"Good question, Chandler."

Chandler, a little happy, raises his head in pride, but unfortunately a few drops of rain fall into his mouth and nose and he almost chokes.

"But there's no good answer..."

Kager gets up and stares at Chandler for a moment, completely more serious than before.

"I don't want to consider this, but there's a chance that groups like the Bloody Clowns and the Faceless Void are still around, or even a possibility of the house of daredevils being back again."

"Of course, it's possible that none of this is happening, and at best, a concept monster has been created, which is the best-case scenario. haa"

Chandler walks around a bit, hoping to find something interesting. Suddenly, he sees something and yells.

"Sir, there's something here."

Officer Kager looks around a bit, then stares at where Chandler is, and sees something. Something that shouldn't be here, something that shouldn't be there at all, but here it is, right in front of Kager and Chandler, the Xenothalth flowers. Beautiful flowers, like roses, black in color, that even the brightest light cannot pass through. the same color as void, same color as the night. What are they doing here? Isn't their existence just a simple theory? So... why? Kager looks at Chandler and then screams.

"Stay away from those flowers!!!"

Kager, terrified and fast, runs towards Chandler. He is forced to use needles made of a special metal to gain more speed. He sticks the needle all the way into his own hand for greater effect and runs towards Chandler at many times the speed. Chandler, a little surprised, stares at the flowers. The flowers, as if something is waking up, are shaking and moving. Chandler can't really react, because it all happened in less than a second.

'I'm going to die...? Mommy.' was the last thing he could say to himself. How pathetic.

Kager uses all his strength and increases his speed, pushing Chandler away from the black flowers. They are thrown far away from the flowers due to Kager high speed. Suddenly, from where the flowers have taken root, a pillar of darkness and void rises, and it is not known how far it will continue. The pillar pierces the clouds and the sky, as if a lofty being has descended to earth, while actually a being of darkness has ascended to the surface of the earth.

"Damn you, Chandler. Don't you know you shouldn't go near anything beautiful!!!"

"sorry, sir... "

Chandler, completely terrified, kneels on the ground, looking up at the pillar of darkness, and so does Kager. It's something neither of them have ever seen in their lives, even Kager, who is an experienced person at this. It's something strange and dangerous. Kager thinks for a moment to figure out the origin of these flowers, but he only comes to one conclusion.

'I remember these flowers. These flowers were the theories that Professor Janial always talked about. flowers of void, foreign flowers, things whose existence challenges all the laws of the world, Xenothalth flowers. Their existence here has only one meaning... but... but how could this happen here?'

The root and essence of these flowers is just one word: foreign, something that shouldn't be here but is, and its existence is only due to some forbidden things that should have been destroyed but weren't. That pillar of darkness takes on a shape after exactly ten seconds, a strange shape, a shape as if it were falling apart in the last moments and has no fixed body and takes on an identityless shape every moment. Its substance seems to be made of darkness and void, as if it were created from dark matter.

"What... the hell... is this?"

This creature, which we're calling Bob... no, wait... Xenothalont, stands in front of Chandler and Kager, motionless. It has no emotion at all, and looks like it's an artificial thing, or trying to be. It's about three times the height of a normal human and about five people wide.

It doesn't move, but its unstable form is always moving and changing. Chandler, who has the survival instinct of a pear, stands up and steps back a little. Xenothalont, seemingly oblivious to Chandler, remains motionless, but something is strange. It seems like its unstable form changes... faster?

"Get out of the way!!!"

Suddenly, the creature throws sharp whips of darkness in different directions for tens of meters, whips that swing dozens of times and make a sound like a scream, screams that come from the depths of the abyss. Officer Kagar quickly moves Chandler and himself out of the way of the whips, but it doesn't seem to have much effect, because he is wounded and torn in several places on his forehead, back, and several places on his arms and legs.

Death passed right by them, because those whips cut through rocks and even the rain and air around them.

"aghhh, what's this?!"

The scars and lacerations left by the whips are badly aching and a black substance remains on them. Fortunately, the black things are washed away by the rain, and the creature stops swinging the whips and absorbs them into itself, becoming still and motionless again. Kager stands up and looks at Chandler.

"Chandler, you have to go."

"But sir!!"

"This is an order, you have to go to our office and get anyone you can. This thing shouldn't be walking down the street like this. Tell them... that this is the wingless angel scenario."

Kager speaks completely hopelessly, but he still has hope that maybe Chandler can survive. Kager lifts Chandler off the ground and places his hand on his back.

"I'll help you a little."

"Sir... I hope you survive and see you again."

Chandler braces himself a little, a smile on his face and a determination in his heart to continue.

"Okay, but if I don't survive... tell your mother I loved her very much."

Chandler looks at Kager with a disappointed look.

"Sir... now is not a good time for silly jokes."

"Heh, I know. it wasn't a joke. Now go, quickly and... take care of yourself... and your mother."

With all his strength and a little use of his necklace, Kager throws Chandler forward and Chandler runs away at high speed. Kager looks at Chandler for a moment and then looks back at Xenothalont.

"Now it's just you and me, big guy."

Officer Kager walks towards the monster, taking off his own necklace and wrapping it around his wrist. The monster, noticing Kager's movements, lets out a very loud and terrifying scream, but Kager doesn't move a bit and comes forward. The rain has finally stopped after hours and the clouds have passed away by sky. The moon has reappeared, a bright purple moon shining in the sky like a beautiful star. Kager stops for a few moments and stares at the moon. He says to himself.

'The moon is so beautiful and bright tonight, like a shining star. So after all this rain, the sky has such a beautiful reward for us, how wonderful.'

He is up against a monster, a monster created from pure void and the Xenothalth flowers, Xenothalont, but he is not afraid at all. Is he stupid? Or is he too brave? No, neither. He just has an overconfidence that seems right. He did not take the title of Endless Officer in the Thread and Silk Group for nothing.

"Chandler went for help, but I don't think any help is needed. Come on, big guy."

This long night is still going on, and it's not going to end any soon.
