Chapter 49 - Chapter 49: Flame Armor Dragon Mode

Whoosh!

Boom!

Rumble!

The towering silver-white figure was sent flying backward, crashing into the mining mountain.

The terrifying impact caused dense cracks to spread across the mountain's surface before large sections collapsed completely.

Nearby Samurai rushed over in waves, moving away the massive chunks of ore that had pinned Yamato down.

"Cough cough..."

Yamato coughed up a mouthful of blood, her overconfidence diminishing as her mind cleared slightly.

The facts proved that relying solely on a suit of armor was far from enough to bridge the gap with top-tier fighters.

The Adamantine Armor's magic shield had limited activations—once exceeded, it would enter a cooldown period.

Yet even without the shield, the Adamantine Armor's innate defense was astonishing.

In the past, Yamato would have been bedridden for half a day, but now she quickly stood back up.

Just as Yamato prepared to battle Luo Xia again to hone her combat skills, the gates of Udon opened, and a little girl arrived under the escort of several Beasts guards.

"Big brother~" Tama called out in a soft, adorable voice, holding a small basket.

"Tama's here!" Luo Xia smiled warmly as he approached, feeling a sense of healing just looking at the cute little girl.

"Big brother, here! These are rice balls Mom and I made together!" Tama struggled to lift the basket toward Luo Xia.

Luo Xia took it, lifting the cloth cover to reveal dozens of neatly arranged rice balls of varying sizes.

"Tama, is your mom feeling better now?" Luo Xia casually picked up a small rice ball and ate it in one bite.

"Mhm! Mom and Dad are both really grateful to you, big brother! They say you're the best person in the whole world!" Tama beamed brightly.

"Luo Xia, who is she...?" Yamato asked curiously as she stepped forward.

Luo Xia tossed a large rice ball to Yamato and said, "This is Tama, a child I found in Kuri yesterday. Let's all get along well from now on!"

Yamato took a big bite of the rice ball and immediately looked intoxicated. "This pickled plum rice ball is so good~"

"My mom made that one! She's really good at cooking!" Tama said proudly.

"Mm, Tama, my name is Yamato. Nice to meet you!" Yamato said.

"Big sister Yamato, hello!" Tama greeted politely with a small bow.

"Hey, there's another little one here. Gotta say, this tiny thing's got some unique charm!" Page One remarked in surprise.

Whack!

Luo Xia smacked Page One flat onto the ground.

"Watch your mouth, Pagey. From now on, you're in charge of looking after Tama!" Luo Xia assigned him the task.

Page One, still lying on the ground, gave a thumbs-up.

"This is Page One, and that's Ulti over there," Luo Xia introduced casually.

"Hello, brother Page One! Hello, sister Ulti!" Tama bowed again with earnest politeness.

Page One sat up, grinning foolishly—he didn't mind the little girl at all.

Ulti, however, just snorted haughtily as usual, not particularly warm toward Tama since she herself was still a child at heart.

After sharing the rice balls Tama had brought with Page One and Yamato, Luo Xia clapped his hands and turned to the guard captain, Babanuki.

"Now that we're full, it's time to let Queen out for a walk!" Luo Xia declared.

"Uh..." Babanuki immediately looked troubled.

"What's wrong?" Luo Xia raised an eyebrow.

"Not long after Lord Luo Xia left for Kuri yesterday, Lord Queen woke up... We really couldn't stop him," Babanuki said.

Luo Xia: "..."

Thank goodness!

Yesterday he'd had Page One bring Jack back as backup.

"Page One, go get Jack out!" Luo Xia ordered.

"On it," Page One quickly got up.

Soon, Jack was brought to the plaza.

Watching this scene, Babanuki and the other Udon guards couldn't help but feel renewed admiration for Luo Xia.

First it was All-Star Queen being forcibly kept in Udon for daily "training" by Luo Xia, and now it was Lord Jack's turn.

Splash~

A bucket of cold water poured down, jolting the sleep-addicted Jack awake like a dying man rising from his sickbed.

When he saw his surroundings and realized he'd been captured and brought to Udon, Jack flew into a rage.

"How dare you do this to me! I won't let you get away with this!" Jack roared fearlessly as he launched an attack at Luo Xia.

Luo Xia didn't dodge. He clapped his hands together then pulled them apart, stretching a strand of flame between his palms.

"Solidify!"

At his command, the formless flames in his hands took on substance, transforming into a fiery staff.

Luo Xia grabbed the flame staff and swung it at Jack, staggering him while the staff itself shattered.

"Again!"

Luo Xia continued experimenting, combining his Fire Dragon Slayer Magic with Armor Dragon Slayer Power, adding the solidifying properties of armor to the flames.

Thunder and fire could activate Thunder-Flame Dragon Mode.

Iron and shadow could create Iron-Shadow Dragon Mode.

So what about fire and armor?

Having multiple Dragon Slayer Magics would be wasted if he couldn't combine them.

This was Luo Xia's current research project—Flame Armor Dragon Mode!!!

During his time in Udon, Luo Xia maintained strict discipline. Every day besides eating and sleeping, he spent beating up Jack.

Of course, Luo Xia held back, only using Jack to continuously refine his Flame Armor Dragon techniques.

Besides Luo Xia, Yamato and the Ulti siblings would also occasionally seek out Jack for sparring.

Watching the daily beatings of the Beasts Pirates' All-Star Jack, the samurai felt increasingly cheerful, working harder while their loyalty to Luo Xia quietly grew.

Another week passed in the blink of an eye, bringing the weekly performance reward distribution time.

With Jack captured, Kuri was especially cooperative this time. Speed quickly completed food distribution in Bargain Town.

Jack's subordinate Sheepshead even brought a mountain of food to Udon, hoping to exchange it for his boss.

"Is this all you brought? Who do you think you're fooling? Bring at least ten times more!" Page One shouted as he sent Sheepshead away, though naturally keeping the food.

Evening arrived.

The reward distribution broadcast from Kuri had ended long ago, but there was still no movement in the Flower Capital's Ebisu Town.

Just as Ulti was about to go see who was slacking off, the broadcast finally appeared.

Several Beast Pirates and Orochi's samurai arrived in Ebisu Town with treasure ships—but instead of clean water and food, the ships were loaded with kitchen waste from the Flower Capital.

"Hahaha! Lord Orochi says trash deserves trash!"

"You lowlife trash people don't deserve good food!"

"Keep digging through garbage for your meals, trash!"

The Beast Pirates and Orochi's samurai in charge of the escort openly mocked and laughed, with some even trampling the people of Ebisu Town underfoot.

These scenes made many samurai's eyes turn red with rage, stirring resentment throughout Udon Prison.

"Everyone, don't act rashly! There must be some misunderstanding! The operation in Kuri during the day went smoothly. Lord Luo Xia wouldn't do something like this just to save a bit of food."

The blue-haired old man, Hyougoro of the Flower, tried to calm the crowd.

"Orochi! Those bastards just mentioned Orochi!"

"That's right! Kurozumi Orochi! That scum is behind this!"

"Damn it! That cursed Orochi is even worse than the Beasts..."

The samurai gnashed their teeth in hatred, yet felt utterly powerless. Eventually, all their gazes turned to Luo Xia.

However, Luo Xia seemed completely oblivious to it all, quietly eating his dinner.

Just as the samurai sighed inwardly, thinking Luo Xia was also powerless against Orochi and didn't dare provoke him—

Clap clap!

Luo Xia patted his hands together and stood up straight.

"Big bro, are we doing this?" Page One asked excitedly.

"Who do you think I am?" Luo Xia grinned.

Boom!

The earth trembled violently as Luo Xia shot into the sky, leaping hundreds of meters in an instant.

Whoosh—

A blazing storm of flames erupted behind him, propelling him to vanish beyond the horizon in an instant.
