Chapter 54 - The big debut

*Jin

The underground parking lot echoed with the sleek roar of his Lamborghini as it slid into place. The white body gleamed even under dim lights, a beast that demanded attention without a word.

Jin stepped out, sneakers squeaking softly on concrete, and slipped into the elevator. The mirrored walls reflected his calm face back at him, though his thoughts buzzed louder than the hum of the lift.

By the time he keyed in his code and pushed open the apartment door, laughter spilled out to greet him.

"Look who finally decided to show up," Minseok smirked from the couch, lazily tossing a grape into his mouth.

Daewon looked up from the snack bowl. "Welcome back, Jin."

"Where's Hyun?" Jin asked, slipping into his slippers.

"In his room, still glued to a book," Minseok said, rolling his eyes.

As if on cue, Hyunwoo appeared, book in hand, calm as ever. He settled into the last empty couch with quiet grace.

Rian, the most unreadable of them all, didn't bother turning away from the TV. "How was school?"

Jin sank onto the couch, head resting against the back. "Different."

Daewon perked up. "Different how?"

Hyunwoo leaned forward, eyes searching. "Did you… find inspiration?"

The others froze, waiting.

Jin let the silence linger before nodding once. "In the strangest way imaginable."

"Spill," Minseok demanded, already setting his grapes aside.

So Jin told them. About the girl with the camera. About her candid shots, her stumble, the accidental brush of fate. He didn't exaggerate, didn't dramatize—just laid it out, quiet and simple. Yet in his voice, the spark burned clear.

Daewon blinked. "So let me get this straight. She trips, you almost catch her… but instead of helping her, you back away because you suddenly think of a song?"

Jin gave a reluctant nod. He wasn't proud of it. But he couldn't lie—his head had been clearer than it had in months.

The silence that followed was heavy. Not with disappointment—but with hope.

Then Minseok's bowl of grapes clattered onto the table. "You mean… we can actually prepare for debut now?"

A rare smile tugged at Jin's lips. "You could say that."

The room erupted.

Whistles, laughter, arms thrown around his shoulders—relief burst like fireworks among them. They had been waiting, praying for him to find it again. And now, the silence was broken.

"Call Jay," Minseok said, half-shouting in excitement.

"Tomorrow," Rian cut in, his voice steady but his eyes brighter than usual. "First, we hear what he's written."

"After dinner," Jin added, standing with them, his smile faint but real.

"Dinner it is!" Daewon cheered, pulling him toward the kitchen.

For the first time in months, their apartment was alive with laughter.
