Larissa's POV
Carson leaned closer, his mouth finding mine in a kiss that started tender but quickly turned hungry. His fingers traced along my exposed back, making me shiver under his touch.
"If we don't stop now," I breathed against his lips, "we're going to be late for dinner."
"I can think of worse things," he murmured, but pulled away reluctantly. "You're right though. Go get ready. I'll use the guest shower."
Before long, we were both dressed and prepared to leave.
Carson looked absolutely striking in his dark charcoal suit, tailored to perfection across his broad shoulders. I had chosen the red dress he'd picked out, accessorizing with simple diamond earrings and the silver bracelet from him, my hair pulled into a sophisticated chignon.
"Shall we?" he asked, extending his arm toward me.
"Let's go," I said, slipping my hand through his elbow.
